Nice property and great staff.
Pros:

The golden north inn is located near the airport of Faibanks. They provide an airport shuttle 24 hours a day, though you do need to call them to get the service. There is also a continental breakfast served, as of my stay, from 7am - 11am, with a potential to have an exception if you ask the staff the previous night. The room I stayed in was small, but I was traveling alone so this was not a concern.

Pay the extra money to stay at a nicer place unless you want to be creeped out.

The price was low

Cons:

The room was strange. sleeping area was too claustrophobic. The mattress on the bed HAD to be 100 years old...the most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried to sleep in. Floor under the toilet was rotten and spongy. TV didn't work until we complained 3 times about it. The shuttle wasn't working so they hired us a taxi.

For one night, the staff made up for the shortcomings of the room.
Pros:

The staff were excellent! They were kind enough to pick us up at the airport and when we had difficulty with the room, they were understanding and helpful. The breakfast was also fresh and tasty, a well-curated selection of options. There was a fridge and microwave in the room, too.

Cons:

The screens did not fit the windows and it is very mosquitoey in Fairbanks in summer … and the AC unit made a racket so it was very hard to sleep. Additionally the door did not latch closed fully so we couldn’t lock the door without throwing the bolt from the inside, making it hard to feel ok leaving the room with our belongings inside.

All in all happy with stay.
Pros:

Well priced. Very clean and nice green space just outside our door. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom a good size. Free shuttle to the airport.

Cons:

The rooms are very tiny. Planes come into land directly overhead. Which was a shock! But having said that we did not find it noisy during the night.

Room very small. And expensive stay a hundred a nite would have been compared to all others we stayed in. But then l guess it was Alaska.

This is not a place I would stay again. It was not wheelchair accessible, a step up to the room. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Pros:

The hotel shuttle picked us up from the airport and took us to the train station when departing. They also shuttled us back to the airport for an Arctic excursion.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
There was a nice continental breakfast including boiled eggs, yogurt and fresh fruit.
There was a Fred Myer Grocery Store within walking distance which helped us since we didn't rent a car.
We would stay there again.

Cons:

The location really requires renting a car if you want to see Fairbanks but the hotel shuttle was very helpful.

Queen bed was crammed into a corner so it was hard to get in and out of. Room would be fine for 1 person, but not enough room for 2.
