The Charmant Hotel

Beautiful hotel, room was gorgeous, super soft bedding, excellent attentive staff, and lovely touch with a complimentary chocolate upon arrival. Only disappointment was breakfast. The quality of the pastries, bagels, and fruit cups was more convenience store quality than cute local cafe quality. If they could improve this one aspect, this review would be “PERFECTION!!”

Always a great stay at The Charmant Hotel in La Crosse, WI. Recently booked stay in August, 2026 with friends. Short walking distance to Riverside Park, beautiful views of the river and close to several dining places. I love the spacious bathroom and lovely space. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Food is great too!

I enjoyed my stay overall, especially because of the outstanding staff. Everyone I interacted with was super friendly and helpful, from the valet attendant, who gave me great recommendations on places to visit, to the front desk team, and the bartender, who helped me choose the right dish from the menu. Their hospitality made the difference.
I stayed in the Grand Salle, the hotel's largest room. It is spacious and comfortable, but I was expecting a better view of the Mississippi River. You only get a partial view from the deck, and there is no river view from the room itself. My biggest issue however was the soundproofing. I could clearly hear conversations from the room next door, which affected my sleep.
The hotel is in a perfect location and the renovated historic building has a lot of charm. However, I felt the price of the room and food was a bit high. Despite that, I would consider returning because of the excellent service.

The hotel is absolutely lovely, they worked to get us in and they worked to help make our anniversary special. We look forward to coming back!

We have been going to the Charmont Hotel in La Crosse ,Wisc. for over 10 years. They now have new ownership and we found it to still be beautiful place with great staff, excellent food and fun things to do. We will continue to visit the Charmont Hotel.

Vibe is top tier all around. Downtown area is cute and relaxing.

The Charmant is a beautiful hotel next to the river in downtown La Crosse. The rooms are charming with decor that honors the history of the building. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is great, and The Parlour is perfect for your morning coffee and breakfast treat. The rooftop bar was closed due to excessive heat and wildfire smoke, but it looks like a cool spot. The price varies based on room availability, but I got a pretty great price in the middle of July.

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff was polite, friendly, and helpful. The way in which they have refurbished the space is amazing! Weather permitting must have a beverage at rooftop bar. Staff at coffee shop was a bit slow. Would definitely go back for special occasion.
Don’t forget to take some chocolates home with you.

The setting matched only in the service, the Charmant offers a beautiful view of riverside park. Offers Delicious food and has one of the only rooftop bars overlooking the town and bluffs. The rooms a spacious and showers massive, beds soft, and linen fresh. I have loved this space since the first time I went in it after it's revival, the original wood floors somehow imbibing the air with a hint of the chocolate factory it once was. The building a true salute to a history with a tasteful elevation. The price was surprisingly affordable for the quality of service offered, as always I will be back, for food, drinks or even a close get away.

The staff was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed cocktails (Yummy Sangria) on the rooftop bar. The room was clean, beautiful, and very chic! Oh, and the bathroom... everything you'd expect from a 5 Star Hotel. Our view of Riverside Park was perfect, especially for the sunset. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning as well. The Brulée French Toast was to die for! Highly recommend for any occasion.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. They exceeded my expectations at every turn. Would definitely recommend. We will be back!

Absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel is beautiful and clean. Stayed one night with my girlfriend, we had a very relaxing time from start to finish. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a great cup of coffee in the morning from the cafe.

Exceeded expectations. Superb restoration of historic building near waterfront. Spacious room, with upscale amenities. Excellent on site restaurant, rooftop bar/pub and coffee shop. Conscientious staff.

What an amazing place! It is next to a park along the Mississippi. The room was very comfortable and the bed was excellent. We slept well! It was quiet!
Friends recommended it and they were right. The lobby bar was fun and the chocolate was tasty.

So we arrived to excellent hospitality Dog bowls / chocolates /wine/ free morning coffee and two free rooftop drinks- that’s just the start! Exquisite rooms ! Location location as well to river and beauty ! Needed doggie bathroom bags - waters ! Just endless smiles and service around every corner ! Well trained staff indeed! Will be back !

The Charmant Hotel is a great place to stay. First class service from the Valet to the whole staff. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Roof top bar is great for a drink or appetizer. Will stay there again.
