Allowed to park and enjoy the beach before checking in (parking at no additional cost, by the way). Staff accommodated us very nicely, the rooms were clean. Loved the balcony where we could look at the beach, very lovely view.
I highly recommend.
Call the SEA SHELL EXPRESS, a very cool golf cart ride to the pier. Nice owners. We had a great experience
The bathroom was too small. Incidental.
Location
Upper balcony why I was 8.5 months pregnant
close to the beach
it’s crazy that some of these places haven’t invested money in updating things. the carpet in the room made it feel so dirty. the shower had mold and was basically unusable because there was zero water pressure.
First timer at Alouette and rented a 3-bedroom unit for two nights. There are certainly some positives - location is ideal being steps from the beach and approx 10 minutes from downtown and the pier. Check-in was outstanding with great customer service. Challenges - the second floor unit is accessible by very narrow stairs that make transporting luggage difficult. Limited mobility customers would have extreme difficulty. The room was decent sized but the full sized bed in the second bedroom was almost unusable as the springs gave no stability at all. A second person getting in bed would almost make you fall off the bed. The carpeted floors were very dirty. To the point that if you showered you would immediately need to wear socks and/or shoes or the bottom of your feet would be black. I understand we were at a beach but either clean the carpets or remove them entirely. Overall the cleanliness was suspect as the blinds were broken, blinds were caked with dirt, the provided silverware was dirty, there was old clothes left behind the sofa, and housekeeping could not enter to clean as we asked for two keys and apparently that is all they have for each unit. We didn't need two keys but when asked during check-in we accepted the two since we were offered. We were not told that there would be no housekeeping service if we took a second key. Overall we were on vacation for a grandchild's birthday so the trip was a success and the room was livable. But there were many staff there each morning on the grounds - hard to understand why the standard of cleanliness was so lacking. Maybe no oversight? Either way I'd consider a return trip but would likely book a suite in hopes that if I spent even more money (already at $645/night with tax) maybe the standard would be a little higher. But the location and customer service was exceptional.
Breakfast was great! Not our first stay at the Allouette!
This was my 2nd year here and it was just as good as last year. It is close enough to the Old Orchard Pier, but far enough away that you don’t have all the noise. Before even booking I called for a few specific requests and Caroline was so helpful and accommodating. Once again, Jessica at checkin was so nice, and friendly! The rooms (and all the property’s areas) are very clean and well kept, beach was a couple steps away and the pool was also only a couple steps away! Ate at the cafe each day (which was busy) and was always greeted by Becky with a friendly smile to take my order and put everything I needed into my Togo order. I will be back again next year, you can tell by every employee you come across on the property’s that they definitely care to make your stay pleasant!
We’ve stayed here twice, once in the fall two years ago and again this June. We love the close proximity to the beach, which is a big priority for us with kids. We had a kitchenette room which helped us keep drinks and milk and a few staples. I hope to return again another year in the future.
Very close to the beach. The Alouette Cafe was exceptional. The included breakfast menu was great. About a 15 minute walk to downtown.
I feel the mattress and pillows should be replaced more often. We stayed in room 16 and the mattress sagged a lot in the middle and some of the pillows were lumpy. Also should put a microwave in the rooms.
Accueil très sympathique
Nous ont « up grader » pour une chambre a l’étage avec vue sur la mer
Bon déjeuner
Rien
Great location right near the beach but about a half mile walk from the noisy amusement area. Owners were very courteous and suggested changing to a room in a quieter part of the property. Room was large and clean, with comfortable beds and adjustable heat/AC. The coffee shop attached to the motel is small but quite popular, and the breakfast was great. There were also several good restaurants a short drive in either direction.
They must have changed TV providers, since the channels that worked on the TV did not correspond to the printed channel list. That was a minor concern for us.
Because it was my husband’s first trip
To Maine we were upgraded to ocean front for no extra cost.
It was all good.
breakfast good
bathrooms way too small , shower way too small
Everything
My wife and I have been staying at Alouette for the past six years, and each visit feels more like coming home. The suites are perfect for us — comfortable bedroom, convenient kitchenette, and a terrace with a beautiful view of the beach. One of our favorite parts of every trip is stepping right onto the sand each morning for a peaceful walk along the ocean.
The location couldn’t be better, with easy access to all of our favorite restaurants in Old Orchard Beach and the surrounding towns. The staff is consistently warm, friendly, and welcoming, making every stay even more enjoyable.
Leaving is always difficult, but we never go without booking our next visit. We’re already looking forward to coming back again!
