What an absolute gem in the Cotswolds: peaceful, welcoming and deeply comfortable.
Pros:

What an absolute gem in the Cotswolds. We loved our two-night stay at The Horse and Groom in Charlton. The quaint room in the loft was incredible, featuring an enormous bathroom packed with amenities, a super comfortable bed and gorgeous field views.
Breakfast was a highlight. A generous breakfast freshly cooked to order each morning with piping hot coffee.
But the team running the pub truly made the trip. The staff checked on us constantly and the fantastic manager went above and beyond to help us travel to meet relatives staying at Winkworth Farm, nearby. Peaceful, welcoming and deeply comfortable. I highly recommend

Pros:

Very traditional pub with nice rooms. Having stayed here on quite a few occasions over the last five years, I knew exactly what to expect and, again, it didn’t disappoint!

Cons:

Although we asked for a GF breakfast due to my allergy they couldn't guarantee cross contamination which was ok.
The hotel then offered a refund for breakfasts not taken....great. But because my original credit card had been replaced they couldn't refund via booking.com. They said they would organise refund and NOT too worry but todate no refund ( 4 weeks later). Talked with Booking.com who advised they couldn't do anything need to go back to hotel, but no answer to emails or texts. I guess this is called "passing the buck". this is such a simple request that both parties are making into a nightmare. Come on Booking.com do your duty and fix.

Treated as though it was a Wetherspoons but some very helpful friendly staff. Rubbish msnsgrmrnt

Cons:

System meant we were treated as though we were about to do a runner any minute even though we staying two nights. We were asked to pay for breakfast (poor) as soon as we’d eaten. Not willing to put it in eventual bill
