Everything looks outdated, the rooms, the shower, the hallways looked like we were in an 80’s movie. The parking garage was over priced in our opinion, and to charge us for a parking that is actually inside the hotel and not an outside garage or something is ridiculous. The staff’s English was troubling. Wouldn’t recommend

Had er meer van verwacht
Pros:

Laat ik beginnen met het personeel, allemaal mega vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Daarnaast vond ik de ligging van het hotel prima.
Ontbijt had ook wat meer Europese opties: yoghurt en fruit en was afbakbrood dat je in een mini oven kan doen. Dat is voor Japanse begrippen al heel fijn.
Prima bed, goede ondersteuning.

Cons:

Ik had een executive kamer geboekt, maar het hotel is behoorlijk gedateerd. Het heeft alle allure van oud geld uit de jaren “80 prachtig om te zien.
Het was wel schoon, maar zo klein dat ik mij (normale) koffer niet normaal kon neerleggen. Ik heb de kamer wat verbouwd zodat hij op het tafeltje kon liggen en leunen op het bureau. Verder had ik een niet roken kamer, maar het rook toch nog naar sigaretten, wellicht door de centrale airco.
Douche in een bad is ook niet meer van deze tijd.

Overall, I loved staying at the Hotel Buena Vista and will recommend it to my friends.
Pros:

The breakfast buffet was great with a variety of dishes to choose from. The lobby was spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff and bell staff were helpful and professional. I love the bell desk uniform - very traditional and classy.
The location of the hotel was convenient with only a few minutes walk to the station. The shuttle bus was also convenient. I did not dine at the hotel restaurant but my traveling companions did, and they said the food was the best Chinese food they have eaten.
I loved, loved, loved the afternoon tea and the executive lounge. We took advantage of the afternoon tea everyday during our three day stay. We are not drinkers so we did not go to the cocktail hours.

Cons:

Although the breakfast buffet was great, it would have been better to have one or two different options from the previous day. We stayed three days and the same options were served daily. Also, Nagano is known for their fruit - apples, grapes, etc. but none of the locally produced fruit was available during breakfast. I have stomach issues so cannot eat acidic fruit such as oranges and pineapples, both of which were the only options available at the buffet. Also, I'm not sure if the lounge ran out of apple pie when afternoon tea was served, but the only time I got to eat the apple pie was on my first day. After that, apple pie was not served.
