Cheap hotel outside London
Pros:

The bed was comfortable and clean, our room had a fan which helped a little in the heat

Cons:

The shower was above the toilet, the walls desperately need painted, the room wasn’t overly clean, the staff weren’t very professional when we checked out one staff member was walking around topless in boxer shorts

Pros:

Stayed here for one night after a gig; it was dreading it after reading the reviews but it wasn't as bad as I was led to expect.

The bed was clean and reasonably comfy, so ultimately this was the saving grace for this place. Unlike other reviews, I saw no evidence of bug infestations.

For £40 a night in zone 2, I would stay here again if I found myself in the same situation (it would pretty far down the list though to be fair).

Cons:

Arrived around 5pm to find one of the reception staff sleeping on the lobby sofa and another scrolling at the other end of the room. The service at this place is as basic as the facilities and equally unwelcoming, however I wouldn't call it rude. If you're an introvert like me, who appreciates quick and to the point interactions, then it won't be an issue. If you're a stickler for good service or planning a stay for more than one night, I would probably stay elsewhere.

The room was advertised with a fridge and a TV, neither of which worked. The room was also very warm, however there was a fan which was welcome. The fan also had the welcome effect of drowning out the bear constant noise of the staff chatting in the reception area under my room (114) and doors closing at all hours.

I did have my own bathroom (although that may be an overstatement given the size of it). The bathroom was essentially a wet room cupboard at the corner of the room which contained a shower and a toilet, although I imagine it would be hard to sit on the loo with the door shut as your knees need to go somewhere, so I'm glad I was there on my own. In addition to this, there was a disgusting smell from the drains, luckily that could be contained by closing the door. I'm glad I was there for only one night and didn't need to shower, as smell and the state of the grouting/sink put me off that idea.

There are also no cups or drinks facilities of any kind in the room, however I did see these downstairs in the lobby room.

In summary, incredibly basic accommodation; the spark has clearly long gone from the owners and the attention to detail is non existent (with multiple maintenance issues and a clear lack of care and attention).

My stay was very disappointing due to the small space, noise, and lack of respect for guests.
Pros:

In the pictures, the room looks quite big, but in reality it’s not like that at all. The toilet and shower are very small and not enough for two people.

Cons:

Much, much, much too messy, and there is a lot of noise at night — you can barely sleep. The reception area is always crowded, and people talk very loudly without respect for the people staying there. I could barely sleep, I swear!

It's fine for one night.
Pros:

The room was clean (but the shower/toilet did smell musty), the bed was comfortable, and it was very-very QUIET, which was lovely.

Cons:

It's just run down. The shower head attachment was broken, so the shower head could just fall to the floor; you wouldn't want it landing on your foot.

The fan was noisy, the fan plug was just taped up (replacing it would cost very little), the TV remote control didn't work, and the toilet/shower area smelled musty. I suspect water is getting into places it shouldn't and rotting the building materials.

Each room needs a close inspection and some basic maintenance carried out.

Good Budget Hotel
Pros:

Good budget stay overall and conveniently located close to restaurants, shops, and a mosque, which made the area very comfortable and convenient. I had booked a single room but was pleasantly allocated a double room instead.

Cons:

The hotel itself is basic and could benefit from some improvements, particularly with the WiFi and bathroom setup, but for the price and location it served its purpose well during my London trip.

Pros:

Location is great. The hotel is placed in a street full of restaurants and shops, also it is rellay close to the bus stop and 15 minutes by walk to the underground station.

Cons:

The cleaniness of the room wasn't really good and the room itself was placed below the ground level, so there was no natural light coming in.
Also, the bathroom was really small but at least not shared.

Vile. Never again.
Pros:

It was absolutely shocking. Disgusting from top to bottom , unkept and unclean. Staff are arrogant and rude.

Cons:

The building is filthy from top to bottom the minute you walk in the building it stinks and it’s unkept and unclean. Staff are awful. We even had to go and buy our own cleaning products before we used anything in the room.
