You won’t get value here
Pros:

I’m giving 3, instead of 2, because I don’t have another hotel with which I can compare it to (in Helsinki). The location was solid, but not the experience I was hoping for, given the price. The deluxe room was dark, dank, and rather depressing. There weren’t any welcomes, announcements/info, washcloths, etc. The robes felt like old scratchy, dirty towels that were dried out on the floor. I’m not certain as to the age of the hotel, but given the weariness of the carpets, floors, window blinds, etc., it feels as though it’s past its heyday. The room was sparse and I was really cold when I slept (you’re only allowed to program the thermostat within a few degrees), so I had to use additional towels above the duvet. It was passable, but not for the rate charged.

O tamanho e conforto do quarto e banheiro. No banheiro, quando usado à noite, acendia uma luz discreta embaixo da pia para orientar o usuário

Cons:

Da luz que entrava no quarto à noite. As cortinas não vedavam bem.

Pihaterassilla ja aamiaisella henkilökunta oli todellakin kehujen arvoinen!

Cons:

Harmitti hieman se, että Lux -huoneesta ei ollut mitään näkymää. Ikkunoista näkyi ihan heti vastapäätä jokin piharakennus, jota senkin takia muutenkin tummanpuhuva huone oli kesälläkin pimeä.

Pros:

Das Hotel liegt paar Gehminuten von der Esplanadi, schöne Promenade mit schönen Bistros und Restaurants. Frühstück war sehr gut, die Leute sehr nett. Helsinki ist sehr schön.

Absolutely fantastic
Pros:

Good location but unfriendly reception staff
Pros:

Good breakfast, excellent location in city centre, beautiful windows and bathroom. Good quiet room.

Cons:

The staff was unfortunately not very welcoming or warm. We arrived in the middle of the night to spend our wedding night here and had let the hotel know about it. The reception staff seemed tired and a bit irritated and did no congratulate us or ask any questions, seemed more like he did not want to be there. In the morning the lady also felt cold, shortly asked if we took something from the minibar and then just said yeah that is it then. Left us feeling weird and not welcomed back.

The decor looks a bit outdated.

Pros:

Most hotel rooms have several very avoidable design defects in terms of functionality - especially ones that affect women, like no socket within straightener flex distance of a mirror etc. This had only one (see below), and was quiet and spacious. Bath towels actually large enough to wrap around you. A proper (GHD!) hairdryer that you don't have to wrestle with. Lights in the cupboards. Plenty of gluten free options at breakfast. Walkable to all the restaurants in the Esplanade area, but also the cheaper ones to the west and south, and the nice walk along the sea at Meripuisto.

Cons:

The safe wasn't the most conveniently located - much too low down, had to kneel down to use it.

A lovely place to stay
Pros:

Stayed 2 nights at the end of June. The bedroom and bathroom were both excellent. We had no view as the room overlooked a central courtyard. No doubt rooms overlooking the street cost extra.
The choice of food and drink at breakfast was excellent. The vibe in the breakfast room was really c, especially when it wasn’t too busy.
We ate in the restaurant both nights. Food was good and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
If we ever return to Helsinki we will definitely stay here again.

Overall the stay was fantastic and I would recommend your hotel anytime.
Pros:

The room was beautifully decorated, the bed ultra comfortable and the room very spacious. Location was perfect and easily walkable to a lot of places of interest. The breakfast was awesome.

Cons:

The location of the room safe definitely needs a re-think; to be located at the bottom of the cupboard really was not good. To have to get down on your knees every time you want to use the safe is a lot to ask of guests, especially for older people or those people who may even have a mild disability. Also it would help to have simple instructions available to be able to use the coffee machine.

Bekväm vistelse med lätt tågresa o promenad fr stationen och nära till sevärdheter

Helt ok frukost. Mkt bra läge med gångavstånd till järnvägsstation, båt till Sveaborg, domkyrkan. Bra info o service

Cons:

Tydligare info om gratis frukost, som vi trodde ingick. Drygt 300 kr per pers för frukosten är för mkt.
