Beautiful historical stay made all the better by its amazing staff.
Pros:

Staff were exceptionally lovely, helpful, and patient and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable.

Cons:

Only matters of personal preference, the stay was practically perfect.

Noisy at night, bring earplugs.
Pros:

It's a lovely pub and the breakfast was good.

Cons:

Room overlooked noisy street and very thin walls meant that we were kept awake until the early hours by the inhabitants of the next room.
We were sat in a cold draught from an open window at breakfast that the staff were unwilling to close. No napkins on table and cold coffee.

Okay if you want just a basic room in the town centre
Pros:

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast was fine.

Cons:

There was no heating in the room which was quite basic & in need of an update, after complaining about the heating I was told a plumber had been called to fix the problem, after a few hours at the theatre and dinner we arrived back to find the heating was still not working. The next morning I was given an apology but no reduction in the room rate which I thought would be expected.

Decent, comfortable town centre pub hotel. Would recommend and stay again.
Pros:

The Boar's Head is right in the heart of Carmarthen. My room was comfortable and clean, with towels replaced daily as required. The full Welsh breakfast was tasty and filling. There is a pub and restaurant but this time I didn't use them. Where I normally stay in Carmarthen. Would recommend and will stay there again.

Cons:

Some noise from the street outside late on Friday and Saturday nights, but not too bad and the price you pay for being in the town centre. My room was up 2 flights of stairs which wasn't an issue for me but might be for less able guests.

Pros:

A lovely place to stay, very central. Staff was very nice.

Cons:

We stayed in room 15. The mattress wasn't the best. Needs to be replaced.

For one night this establishment offers good value for money, for longer stays it could be comfier

Disappointed and will stay elsewhere next time - son just started at uni so will be staying in camar
Pros:

Location was good.

Cons:

Breakfast service awful, not friendly and no coffee. We had to ask the girl and she never told us it was refilled. Never asked if we were ok or if there was anything else. Could taste the vinegar on the poached eggs. Tinned mushrooms. Had tomato which wasn’t on the menu. Fire alarm at 04.10, not a problem but expected an apology in the morning or acknowledgment that it happened. Empty Plastic bottle under bed when we checked in. Decaf coffee only and in my son’s room no biscuits. Nobody to check us out or ask us if our stay was ok. Cleaner told us to leave the keys on the bar, this was at 10.00 am.

Really lovely stay, but would have to have a first floor room if we were to stay again.
Pros:

Dinner and breakfast were great! Lovely dining room bar and lounge. Food and drink all value for money. the hotel is central Carmarthen town which is great for getting around.

Cons:

The stair cases were too steep and too may for us old fogies. We appreciate there is little can be done about this apart from installing a small lift, but the building is an old coach house with restricted space.

Hotel ok but with issues
Pros:

Restaurant and food was very good.
Staff were nice / friendly.

Cons:

Location, Hotel is on a main road so it will be noisy, secondary glazing panels missing which made it worse. The room was a lot smaller than the pictures indicate, not many places to store things. The bathroom requires hooks / shelves as there is nowhere to hang towels or store essentials.

Nice old fashioned hotel. Would stay here again.
Pros:

Very central for where we were going. Restaurant food very good. Staff very friendly.

Cons:

It was a very wet night and the rain drummed of the metal flat roof all night.
