Some Pros-
*Good choice of food
*Very central and great for market.
*Big rooms
*Very nice reception staff.
*Jacuzzi area amazing but need to be there at 10am to get a bed.
However the negatives outweigh the positives.
Some Negatives-
* It states no reserving sunbeds?? Most sunbeds were reserved by 8am. Not enough space for the amount of customers!
*Cocktails are AWFUL, overall drinks disappointing. 90% of drinks menu has to be paid for. Not the idea of all inclusive!
*Overall the waiting staff are miserable and obviously don't enjoy their jobs.
*Food is often cold or luke warm, maybe investing in proper equipment like a bain Marie to keep it hot.
*Night time entertainment AWFUL.
The BIGGEST negative- The noise, next to a duel carriageway thats always busy, the cleaners start at 5am banging and moving furniture.
We felt overall the management were non-existent.
We loved the area but next time will book the Casiar next door as far nicer.
We stayed at Playa Bonita for 9 nights. We were initially very excited because the photos and reviews looked promising, and for the first few days, our impressions were good. The rooms were clean, the public toilets were spotless, and the staff was friendly. Even the all-inclusive buffet surprised me positively at first; the food was warm with a good selection, though occasionally oversalted.
However, the experience quickly went downhill:
The Sunbed Situation: The hotel policy states that reserving sunbeds is not allowed. In reality, it was terrible. By 8:00 AM, it was impossible to find a bed near the pool because they were all reserved with towels—often left empty for hours. The only available beds were far away from the pool and lacked any "holiday vibes."
Pool Hygiene: The pool itself was not clean. There were small stones and sand at the bottom that remained there every single day of our stay. We never saw anyone cleaning the pool or washing down the sunbeds.
Drinks & Amenities: The all-inclusive cocktails were essentially mocktails—served in small 200ml glasses filled mostly with ice and almost no traceable alcohol. Additionally, the juice machines in the restaurant dispensed only water instead of juice for two days in a row.
I was originally going to rate this hotel a 3 or 4, but the service completely fell apart during our last three days. First, we ran out of shower gel. We asked reception to refill it, but hours later it still hadn't been done, forcing us to ask a second time. Next, housekeeping took our dirty towels from the floor (if you need towel replacement you HAVE TO leave them on the floor) but failed to leave fresh ones, meaning we had to contact reception yet again just to dry off.
The absolute breaking point occurred during our last lunch. My husband was chewing a piece of meat when we heard a loud crack. We initially thought he had broken a tooth, but it was worse: he had bitten into a piece of glass in his food.
When we alerted the waiter, he simply apologized, took the plate to the kitchen, and that was it. No manager came to speak with us, no one checked if my husband was injured, and they didn't even remove the contaminated food from the buffet counter.
This is not a true 4-star hotel. The lack of basic customer service and the severe disregard for food safety mean we will never return.
Good location. Quality of food in particular was good. Drinks ok too. I NEVER once struggled to get a sunbed. Always had choice and sometimes I didn't go to get one until 1pm. A few people hoggin but still plenty.
The entertainment at night was poor and only lasted 90 mins or so. Max. You will have to venture out to stay entertained but there are lots of local options. Payable of course
Lovely room, food excellent & plenty of choice, staff friendly & helpful BUT 2 PROBLEMS
1 BEWARE if you like using a swimming pool this pool is VERY DANGEROUS
The entrance to the pool is on a VERY SLIPPY SLOPE & several people were falling over & hurting themselves, the hotel put up a yellow sign but we avoided going in it as it was far too dangerous
2 The entertainment was the WORST EVER,no shows just karaoke, bingo & quiz ,very disappointing
Luckily there are several Irish bars just outside the hotel so we went to them instead &would recommend them as the hotel entertainment is DIABOLICAL
Good job the food was excellent, but they need to sort the swimming pool & entertainment out to make it a better hotel,we wont be going back
Initially very impressed until we got longer into our stay
Food: there is a lot of options, I mean a lot, then you realise that things aren’t labelled properly (apart from the small gluten free section which is labelled well), I didn’t expect to find prawns in my vegetable noodles which could be detrimental to someone with a seafood allergy.
Flies are around the cold foods & all in the restaurant, there’s automatic doors at entrance and really needs a deterrent as the flies ruined our experience
Food is oddly seasoned, I found the beef dishes unbelievably salty then some is under seasoned. Everything was dripping with oil
Food is replenished swiftly & presentation was good. Staff are amazing and so attentive; cleared your plate incredibly fast and always had a smile on their faces
Rooms: clean and tidy, lots of wardrobe space, aircon was a lifesaver and worked very well, would cut off when balcony door was open which was also good.
Rooms are cleaned daily but found they came a bit too early so felt rushed to go breakfast.
Bathroom, shower floods no matter how much you try to stop it.
Drain smell comes up a lot which isn’t too nice but likely cannot be helped
Kettle and cups provided but no coffee/tea/milk so we didn’t use it
Pool: large, clean, not heated but not needed to be
Sunbeds, hotel says they do not let anyone reserve beds before 10am but the same people seem to reserve the pool beds every day and not return until mid afternoon. Lots of sunbeds on grass area but seemed to not find any on last day due to reserving
Jacuzzi area: a hidden gem, canopies, large beds and obviously a lukewarm jacuzzi. Cannot fault this area and returned many times
Reception: staff helpful and cheerful, a bit cheesed off as we asked to extend our checkout (€40) to be told the hotel was fully booked yet checking booking website there was loads of rooms available. Was offered the changing room and showers (booked at reception) as our flight was late; only to have our booking shortened due to people taking their time before us (fyi you’re given 30 mins) and we only had 15 mins due to people after us banging on the doors as we’re trying to shower and freshen up
Entertainment: during the day you’re not harassed which is a plus, we were worked to the bone during water aerobics which we really enjoyed, I noticed a kids club with workers being really attentive to younger children.
Evening entertainment wasn’t too good; kept offering a mini disco with no children present, I didn’t think 50 adults wanted to hear baby shark whilst a worker danced to it (to be fair she wasn’t phased and it made us giggle)
We ended up getting bored and only went to evening entertainment twice.
Location is quite ideal, we are a couple in early 30s so enjoyed walking around the local area,
Sadly there is a 2* hotel directly next to our block (block4) and it was like witnessing an adult butlins retreat, didn’t expect to see drunken women dancing around naked screaming their heads off at 3pm whilst we were sitting on the balcony so be careful if you’re bringing children
All in all, the hotel is okay, I’ve seen better 3* and had better dining experiences. I’d return to the area but maybe not the hotel.
Location is OK nearest shop 200mtrs , walk to promenade 200mtrs, very many steps to get down to beach.
Hotel itself is OK once you get used to the layout,, rooms are quite spacious and beds quite comfortable, and kept very clean .
Overall the hotel is very quiet with no rowdiness
Restaurant quality and choice are more than adequate .
Sadly the entertainment is outdoors and while we were there it was windy and quite cool , so we only used the bar one night, as it was to cold to sit around.
Unfortunately since my last visit to G.C. it has gone down very much with many shopping centres closed down or very few shops, The overall cleanliness has sadly deteriorated.
pulizia, cortesia, posizione
niente
Pulizia impeccabile
First time here and I wasn’t disappointed. Situated in a good location, beach a 10 minute walk and well worth it.
The atmosphere around the hotel was very good and welcoming. The room was large and clean and had everything you’d need.
Booked as all inclusive and didn’t go hungry. A good selection of choices for all tastes and quality was good. Great value for money.
The pool was great and always some activity going on .
Staff were friendly and polite. I’d definitely return without a doubt.
This was the second time we have visited the playa bonita and we cannot fault this hotel one bit. Rooms are clean and the cleaners do a great job with the room cleaning. The food and drink at all inclusive is much better than other places we have been too, there’s always an option for us even though we are quite boring fussy eaters. Visited last year in July and this year in June, did not have any issues getting sun beds like in other hotels. And finally I’d like to praise the Animation team, they do a great job throughout the day with activities to keep everyone entertained from all ages, special mention to Celina who was great fun at the activities and was great cheerful face around the pool. Would this hotel recommend to anyone.
Great stay with a generous all inclusive option. Really good range of food and quality was also excellent most of the time. Love the self serve drinks! Rooms are a really good size, with great amenities but balconies are a little small. Very well kept pool area/grounds and all the staff were super friendly and helpful.
Good location for a chilled week, a few shops and bars near by and close to the promenade along the sea front but maybe a little out the way if you want to be out and about in playa del ingles a lot.
