Absolutely nothing about the place. The only thing I can say is the night porter was extremely kind and very helpful - His name is Manav Malhotra and i would like to thank him again for his 5* service . Its a terrible shame all the others can't treat guests like he can.
Staff are not trained properly in customer service and care. The attitude of the staff was just horrible. I felt like i was an inconvenience whenever i asked for anything. The breakfast was awful, everything that should have been hot was cold. The whole place is run down and dirty carpets. Room was very dusty and not enough towels. Over priced rooms and over priced breakfast !! The pool is not open as it's not been maintained and since the phase was taken over a few years ago its just not been taken care off, which is such a shame as its a beautiful building.
It was our Wedding Anniversary so we wanted something special, we paid a bit more than we usually would.
We arrived a little early and had a drink in the bar, we managed to check in half an hour earlier with no extra charge.
The room was a Standard double, clean and quite spacious with air con and a fridge.
The Shower worked.
The breakfast selection couldn`t be faulted, it was a buffet help yourself.
Our view from the window was a small roof terrace with an air con unit, no garden view
but an over grown plant/weed.
Inside both bedside reading spot lights didn`t work.
The bathroom was clean but must have been installed with very tall people in mind. the Wash Basin was 1.1m high and the WC was much too high, our feet dangled over the floor.
I do know how high sanitary appliances should be fitted, I`m a Plumber.
No windows and no extractor fan.
The Full English `hot` breakfast Just wasn`t hot.
I had to ask for it to be nuked in the microwave, this made it just about edible.
The Bar didn`t have the drinks (night cap) we wanted even though they advertised them on their website menu.
Overall it was very disappointing for the money.
Great Manor House, good location if tou are looking for a proximity of Richmond Park etc.
Many features would require modernisation and a lot of investment.
I liked the peaceful location. Lovely gardens and attentive staff
Lacked atmosphere- very few guests around made it feel empty. No music in the evening in the dining room or bar. Felt like a ghost town at times. I like it quiet but lacked something. Sparse.
mooie ligging, mooi huis, goede parkeergelegenheid, zeer ruime kamer
zwembad al geruime tijd gesloten, toen wij er waren al sinds een jaar, zo stond het niet op booking toen wij boekten, maar is er inmiddels af gehaald zie ik.
Victorian style, clean rooms, beautiful location, amazing staff- all going an extra mile.!!
Nothing.
Location and the surroundings, helpful staff
It was not clean
The mattress was old
Rooms were not serviced
Gardens were unkept
Swimming pool has been out of service since May 2025
Poor property care and maintenance
Upon arrival and booking all looked so promising. Beautiful old property in a stunning neighbourhood. Well located. But as we got settled into our room, the lack of maintenance, cleaning and just overall care became more and more visible. A mattress that was so worn that i kept on rolling to the other side, tv not working, the room was not serviced for 2 nights that we were there. The swimming pool is out of service since May 2025, there is dust so thick on the beautiful piano standing under the staircase, the gardens are unkept with weeds growing, pots broken. There is no signage to get to the dining areas.
I would like to commend the reception staff. Despite the staff at reception trying to help and trying to move us to a much smaller room to compensate for the mattress, this beautiful old property deserves some serious Tender, loving care. The issue here is with the maintenance staff. Someone needs to take a birds eye view here.
Comfy rooms and plenty of parking available. Very close to Richmond Park.

Very helpful and friendly staff
Staff offered a great service and let us have the room before the check in time. They were polite and helpful. Gardens are beautiful and outdoor seating area very nice, and the lunch menu at the bar was very good. Swimming pool closed for maintenance but looked pleasant. I didn't use the gym but again it looked good. Parking was easy.
Breakfast was absolutely awful. The poached eggs were extremely watery, every bite leaked water. The buffet food was very salty. The room also had a very strong perfume smell. Not sure if from cleaning chemicals or if just a fragrance. But it's very strong and caused some airway irritation. Especially a concern as I have a baby. The water pressure in our room was also very weak, making the shower fairly unpleasant. Finally rooms 36 and 37 are right by the external entrance to the outbuilding, so there's a lot of noise through the night. The rooms are not very soundproof in general (could hear the conversations of neighbours)
A lovely character hotel in a fantastic rural setting yet 5 minutes drive into Kingston upon Thames. The staff were welcoming, the room was fully equipped and very comfortable. The air conditioning was a bonus in the hot weather. Plenty of parking on site too. I will definately be staying again
Nothing
