A complete disaster.
Pros:

Very nice public areas.

Cons:

The room was super small and uncomfortable. No seating, a bed on the floor, ac next to the bed that ran off and on all night. The building also appears to have black mold on the outside and paint that is peeling. BTW, breakfast was “free” but awful.

Nice, but could be better.
Pros:

The hotel was charming, and the employees were friendly.

Cons:

The lobby smelled like marajuana. Not sure why, because it’s a non-smoking facility.

Historic New England Meets Modern Comfort
Pros:

The property is well positioned and walkable to downtown and Camden Harbor. Friendly, attentive staff. Good breakfast and coffee. Clean and nicely maintained rooms with modern updates throughout the property. It has a storied background as the location where Peyton Place was filmed as well as where American poet Edna St. Vincent Millay was discovered, lending intrigue to the property. We greatly enjoyed sitting on the grand front porch overlooking High Street in the evenings.

Cons:

I would have given this location 10 Stars had it not been for the bed sheets. I found the synthetic blend to be uncomfortable and unbreathable.

Charming Inn in a nice area
Pros:

Whitehall is very quaint in a nice location just outside the center of Camden (about 10-15 minute walk). Overall the inn met expectations and the staff were wonderful!

Cons:

Breakfast was really nice but a couple of things (jam for scones and cheese for croissant, plus ran out of orange juice by 9:15, better fruit selection) could take it above and beyond. Also the fridge in our room was old and super noisy - light sleeper beware it did wake me up several times in the night. They also have window air conditioners which are nice for temp but also noisy. But beds were very comfy and sheets soft - very clean. So don’t want to complain too much.

I enjoyed my stay at Whitehall , but felt some things could have gone better.
Pros:

The hotel is really charming. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is helpful. There are lots of cozy areas to spend quiet time reading, etc.

Cons:

The weather was cool for late spring and I was disappointed that both the inside fireplace and one of the fire pits were both out of service.

When I entered my room the air conditioner was on full and the room was very cold. I was not taught about where the heater was or how to turn it on. I could also not figure out how to turn the air conditioner off, so I just ended up unplugging it. When I returned to room after housekeeping left, the air conditioner was back on full force and the heater was off again. - frustrating. Because of the cold weather it would have been nice to come into a room that was already warmed up.

Not great
Pros:

Not much really. The staff were friendly and the exterior of the property is really pretty.

Cons:

Our room (119) was awful. Really small (it should probably be converted into additional maintenance space) with air conditioning/moisture issues — an extremely noisy air con unit that competed with an unsightly dehumidifier. We were booked for three nights but left after one. The property refunded one night’s stay but it was still a waste of money.

Historic and comtempory, a lovely respite
Pros:

Historic and contemporary, Whitehall is a very pleasant place to stay the night. Comfortable beds and pillows complemented by log decor (seriously!). And, in our case, an en suite bathroom. Coffee and water are available all day long and their breakfast was simple yet nourishing. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.
