Not bad for a business stop over
Pros:

Pleasant, friendly staff. Pool facilities were nice for a hotel spa. Quiet and nice late check out.

Cons:

Staff were not really available when waiting to go in for dinner or breakfast. I ordered my dinner at the bar and was charged before I realised a service fee was automatically added on. When my meal came, I realised part of my order had been forgotten. My bed had lumps and bumps in it too and was not comfortable - I woke up a couple of times in the night. Outdated rooms but that wasn't bad. I unfortunately am glad I only stayed there for business as i'd be dissapointed if that were my own spend and time staying.

Although the room wasnt great it served our purpose for the 2 nights stayed
Pros:

Check in was smooth and professional.
The Spa/swimming pool was nice(water was not cold)
Jacuzzi was quite hot but that is not a criticism
Dinner was good
Bar was nice

Cons:

Room was not quite up to the value paid for it, carpet was quite stained and in one section it was ruffled up.
Room was a bit smaller than i expected and considering the place was not full they could have given us an upgrade.
The fee for car parking was not expected when we arrived we had to pay Ringo £10.50 per night when at most hotels I have stayed at it is usually free.
The breakfast wasnt incuded but i knew this when i booked in January but when we arrived they said it was £22.50 each which i was a bit expensive and I thought it must be a fantastic spread but it wasnt, i opted for the cooked English but wasnt impressed at all.
We went to the races at Newmarket and decided to not take the car there so instead we took a taxi which was recommended by reception, i booked the cab and it was £26.40 which I assume was reasonable so I gave the driver £30 and asked him to pick us at 5pm, he sent me a text to say he had arrived I said we would be with him in about 5 mins, we sked him to take us to a pub called The Hole in the wall for dinner which he did then asked me for £30?
Thats nothing to do with the hotel directly but I though £30 thats excessive but i never questioned him.

Requires a major refurb and upgrade for the room rate
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Parking was an extra cost £10.50, our ground floor bedroom window lock was broken making room insecure and unsafe . When reported it was a known issue. £50 was taken as a holding deposit for any expenses, none negotiable when I was going to pay for any costs as I incurred them, £10/per bath robe hire each for spar. Very disappointed in the quality of the hotel.

Excellent Stay, great staff, highly recommended
Pros:

It was a great historical stay in a lovely location. Ideal for what we required. We had the best roast peach and chicken salad with feta and mozzarella cheese. However the dessert of rhubarb tart and custard was hugely disappointing. The spa facilities were great we enjoyed a swim and use of the Jacuzzi. Breakfast was delicious and the 15 minuite drive to Addenbrookes hospital was painless. We would definitely come again, but would definitely book treatments ahead as we were unable to get massage (that’s totally our fault) I’d like to spend more time to investigate the lovely gardens and surrounding area. And also bring our dog.

Cons:

The quilt in the bedroom perhaps could do with changing as the dust when getting in and out of bed was staggering. Made me continuously sneeze and I don’t suffer from allergies.

Four stars? Needs some TLC...
Pros:

Swimming pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast. Some staff excellent. Room very clean and good size

Cons:

Just felt it needed some TLC. Please smile at reception on arrival - felt like an imposition. Charge £10 for a car park if not booked direct - so a booking.com tax. (?) Room uncomfortably hot - even with outside temp of 16c at night and windows open (opens onto car park so privacy?)- ceiling fan good. Portion of curry at dinner - £19 not value (but apparently that's the portion, so...) plus 15% service charge. Green mold on tiles in the rest area of the swimming pool - come on guys!

Pros:

Comfortable room and nice staff

Cons:

Room service was poor, had to wait ages and not as ordered . Breakfast was not the best. Also resent having to pay for parking in a rural hotel.
