Spacious, clean room with a garden view. Nice, clean pool. There are seating areas in the garden and on the balconies. Nearby are shops, a cafe, a stupa, and a park.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I loved the open feeling both in the room and outside.
The curtains on the windows are dirty. There's a damp smell outside.
Viele Langzeitmieter
Very nice staff who help you with anything. Good rooms clean and comfortable
Bread was a little bit dry at breakfast
The pool is nice, the breakfast was suffice and the balcony area outside our room was pleasant. It’s also downtown so
you’re near some good food streets, bars, Korean food. a mini C mart, and also The Block ran by a Frenchman in one of the side lanes. Naked Espresso Botanica does great coffee.
Also, Patrick at the front desk was helpful without being pushy.
The ashtrays near the pool
hadn’t been cleaned. The fact that people were smoking near the pool isn’t cool plus hoiking (spitting) was ugly.
Some of the staff could have more personality too. The place looks a bit dated and tired - locks in the bathroom are barely functional and the smell sometimes is not the best.
piscina, desayuno
todo bien
The staff were truly helpful, genuine and kind. The swimming pool area was exceptional
The facilities were dated and though not dirty, they were dusty and malodorous. Daily cleaning was cursory.
Breakfast & location
Shared veranda made evenings very noisy
Comfortable room. Good value. Clean pool
Nothing
Garden Villa Vientiane — A Complete Disaster. Avoid at All Costs.
Where do I even begin. We stayed 4 nights at Garden Villa and it was, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience I have ever had in Southeast Asia.
First impressions: The entrance was dirty and unwelcoming. The lobby — which also serves as the breakfast room — looked more like a motorcycle dealership than a hotel. Dirty motorbikes were parked everywhere. No fans, no air conditioning in this space, in Laos, in June. The heat was simply unbearable.
The breakfast was an insult. A miserable selection of food, served in suffocating heat, with flies swarming directly over the buffet. And if that wasn't enough — the toilets were located directly opposite the food. Open. No separation whatsoever. We lost our appetite immediately and never returned.
The pool had no water. For days. Just an empty, dirty hole in the ground. The garden was completely neglected and overgrown.
The room was in a shocking state. The tap was loose, the shower rail was falling off the wall, the bathroom was covered in black mold, towels smelled foul, the soap dispenser was broken off the wall. Dirt everywhere. We felt neither welcome nor comfortable for a single moment of our stay.
The staff were unmotivated and indifferent. You felt like a nuisance, not a guest.
The final insult: On checkout day, our app wouldn't load properly due to the hotel's catastrophically bad WiFi. I asked the manager at reception to call us a taxi to the bus station — a ride that normally costs around 50,000–60,000 Kip. He quoted us 150,000 Kip. A 3x markup. No shame, no explanation. We refused, fixed the app ourselves, and left.
This is not a hotel. It is a collection of problems charging you money to experience them. Do not book this place under any circumstances.
