The receptionist was wonderful
Pros:

The location was fabulous and it’s a beautiful property although it needs redecoration in places.

Cons:

My room wasn’t clean. Either the bottom sheet hadn’t been changed or the cleaner dropped sugar in the bed by mistake.

Beautiful place to celebrate a birthday
Pros:

The bedroom was spacious, comfortable and with tasteful old style decor. The bed was firm and perfect. More milk, better soluble coffee and provision of biscuits would be an asset.
We loved watching the deer, the house martens and other bird life.
The food was delicious though the cheeses at breakfast were too mild for my taste. The toasters were too slow.
The staff were lovely, particularly Alex from Ireland who was delightful, friendly and bright and the lady who cleaned our room was sunny and warm.
The gardens were beautifully maintained.
Such a brilliant location!! Would love to have been introduced to the man in charge of the deer and learn more about him and them.

Cons:

Irritating milk sachets which tended to explode. Not enough of them. Poor soluble coffee.
Lack of local biscuits.
Slow toasters in dining room.
Some of the seating not supportive enough.

A stunning venue in a beautiful location with lovely staff. Will come again soon!
Pros:

The staff were incredible. I was a little late arriving for check in and had issues with my card payment, and the reception team were very friendly and patient, and gave me an alternative payment option. The restaurant breakfast team were very friendly, there was so much choice on the menu, and the food was delicious. The wait and bar staff at my friend’s wedding reception held at the venue were also very friendly and attentive, and the wedding breakfast was also delicious. The housekeeping staff were also friendly and took the time to say hello as I was walking around the venue. I absolutely loved my stay and hope to visit again sometime!

Cons:

Nothing, it was all fantastic!

friendly staff , stunning view!
Pros:

The continental breakfast was so spread out it became farcical jams and toast were so far apart i gave up walking around because the toast was cold by the time i found a table. The staff were friendly but we were left to our own devices and not explained where everything was.

Cons:

The room that was allocated to us was very very tired stained carpets and bedroom furniture looked like it was bought from a car boot sale.
And as for the peacocks screaming at 2am was not pleasant!

Lovely house in beautiful grounds but.....................
Pros:

Lovely house in beautiful grounds, the bed was very comfortable

Cons:

The hotel is shabby in places, it seems like maintenance is very low priority. We stayed in room 41, purporting to be a suite, all the way around the outside corridor. The bathroom was in very poor condition and the wooden deck outside the room is in a treachorous state with odd bits of wood holding it all together. The bushes are very overgrown, the worst in the row, it felt like we were put in the room that they use for staff rather than a very expensive hotel room.

The practice of charging an additional £10 for a cooked breakfast would remain just an annoyance if it weren't for the fact that the cooked breakfast just isn't very good. Its meagre; the toasters don't work properly; there are no side plates; the coffee is rough. If you were having the continental, that in itself would be a big disappointment as the selection is meagre also.

Excellent
Pros:

The location, quiet and relaxing. Deers in the park in front of the hotel. Could see them from our room. The kindness of the staff. Lovely stay. Dogs were everywhere and very well treated by staff: water, treats.

Cons:

The wheelchair was not easy to manoeuver in some areas but staff did everything they could to help us.

Disappointed as worse than four years ago.
Pros:

Location

Cons:

Poor state of repair, the same area of poor repair noted from 4 years ago in the hallway.
Room 7 had a strong smell of damp and the window had been opened to probably clear it but it soon returned when closed. Floor worryingly uneven with foot end of bed higher than head end. Furniture everywhere tired, damaged and with sunken flat cushions. Dirty stained carpets throughout. Several blown windows in conservatory.
Lack of breakfast options, no boiling water for teapot and hot water dispenser warm not hot at breakfast. The continental breakfast is a choice of two cheeses, two hams, no rolls, two pastries, cold tea served twice, uncooked croissants in the middle.
No mention of smoking area and no ashtrays at front of property so cigarettes outside everywhere, smoking area was noticed when leaving. The few cushions that were put on some of the chairs were left out all night so wet in the morning.
Key card faulty so Yale type lock supplied with plastic keyfob with handwritten room number and a Christmas Cracker type key ring.
It seemed to be fully under staffed, long wait for someone to arrive at reception for check in and for coffee in bar. Staff stressed, no one was friendly or polite, limited drink choice in bar. Barman doubles up as restaurant manager so long wait for drinks.
Would not accept cash, had to pay on arrival, probably so you didn’t argue the overpriced rooms and service. Breakfast included but only continental with limited choice, all buffet style. Cooked breakfast additional charge.
Carpets stained and threadbare in places.
Dining chairs seats collapsed, coverings hanging off. Lounge area unclean with cake and food remnants all over furniture.

Relaxing New Forest Stay
Pros:

Location was beautiful, staff was friendly, room was a good size, but we did pay extra. Food was good. Charming Burley was only a short walk away.

Cons:

Whilst the food was good it was expensive for what it was.

We liked our stay at Burley Manor and if back in the New Forest, would stay there again.
Pros:

We liked our stay at Burley Manor and if back in the New Forest, would stay there again. A lot of comments says breakfast was basic but I think there were enough choices, I would add boiled egg to the choices and it would be a good breakfast.

Cons:

We had a nice stay and liked everything.
