A MUST STAY
Pros:

I have been coming back to the Galle Face Hotel every time I come to Sri Lanka! It is such a lovely welcome for when I arrive or leave Sri Lanka. The staff are incredibly helpful and charming, I have never had a mediocre experience here it has always been superb. Such a lovely hotel with such character and history, I can't think of anywhere else I would stay in Sri Lanka. I am planning to book again this coming January. Can't wait to come back again. THANK YOU SO MUCH?

Outstanding
Pros:

We come every year if we can and this year didnt disappoint. Staff are incredibly hospitable and friendly and the building colonial at its best. As always such a treat and will be sad to leave but will be back again. Special thanks again to emmanuel who always goes above and beyond!

Wonderful experience
Pros:

We recently visited the Galle Face Hotel for a dinner outing with friends, and it was truly a remarkable experience. From the moment we made our reservation until the end of our visit, we were impressed by the exceptional hospitality and outstanding service.
A special thank you to Tharuka, Maduka, Sazni, and Iresha from the Front Office team for their professionalism, warm welcome, and genuine care. Their support throughout the reservation process and their thoughtful hospitality made our evening even more memorable.

Location , very convenient place to meet up with friends and family.
I was born in Sri Lanka and not a frequent visitor to Island. After spending nearly 42 years outside the island, Galle Face is something, I can still recognise .
Then realised there are few other near by hotels to choose from.

Cons:

I booked a garden view room. But, what they allocated for me was over looking the car park and building site.
My original booking was for 5 nights and 6 nights.
After a long flight all I wanted to do is have to eat and go to bed.

But unfortunately, loud music from a garden function kept me up until 1.00am. First thing next morning I did was cancelling my 2nd half of the stay.

Expected a bit better
Pros:

Lovely location and historic hotel however service at the pool bar would be beaten by a Tortoise in a race, 30 mins wait for water and having to repeatedly go and chase where's my drink? When there were only around 4 people there.
The music played at both bars was also too loud and thumping techno all day, just why????

Restaurant was perfect.

Amazing Service by Mr Ajith and the Team
Pros:

We have a diplomatic conference for 4 days at a stretch and Mr Ajith and his team was very helpful
They made the impossible possible for us so that our event was held successful.

The hall arrangement and the food was all arranged on time and sometimes even during a short notice they still did changes and prepared all the refreshments for us.amazing Jod done and we will be back soon !

A little disappointed
Pros:

Location is amazing.
Historic hotel is fabulous 👌
Dinner and breakfast were fabulous

Pool bar staff were slow to the point of just "i cant be bothered " and the constant blaring techno music is so out of place and really unnecessary

Absolutely in love with the hotel
Pros:

Location is absolutely memorable, we loved the room which were in but we think they should go for a refurbishment. The atmosphere feels like a home away from. The staff was absolutely friendly and attentive, specially Mr.Devatha, who did our check in. He also did hotel tour and explained us about the rich history of the hotel. Hope to come there again with our newborn baby 👶

I absolutely loved my stay at Galle Face Hotel with my family. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. There's something really special about the place it has so much history, yet it still feels comfortable and relaxing.

What stood out the most was the atmosphere. It felt peaceful, elegant, and full of character. I would happily stay here again!
