We had the most wonderful night staying at the Elvetham in the Seymour suite. It was perfect, and the additional afternoon tea was so nice. The staff were super friendly and helpful and really made our stay special.

The breakfast was absolutely the best.We stayed in the Stables unfortunately we didnt realise there were stairs but my 87yr old Mum did it as she is determined.The room was lovely and cool with the air con.The room was immaculate and the building is absolutely stunning.Really enjoyed our stay
Lovely situation and nice rooms
Parking for the Stables, as got back Saturday evening and had to leave my elderly partner outside leaning on his stick while I parked the car in the main car park,and walked back to our room.
When we left Sunday morning, I had to fetch the car back over to load up, leaving him standing with our luggage outside. It was a good job it wasn’t raining,or wintertime.
I am not young myself, and although we love the hotel, are not likely to stay again because of the lack of parking near to our room in the Stables, which we need as on ground floor.
Also our television wasn’t working when we arrived. Called reception who got maintainance to visit and was fixed with new batteries for the remote by a very helpful young man. Maybe check everything is working before checkin?

You could not open the window in the bedroom and had to have aircon on instead, no bath tub , the food despite being fresh and good lacked of seasoning ( chunky chips not good ) , the wine we chose was very average
The Elvetham is a genuinely beautiful hotel — the interior is old, characterful, and very pretty, and the grounds are lovely to walk around, especially in the evening. The gardens and plants around the restaurant added a really nice touch to mealtimes, and it was lovely that the hotel is dog friendly. Our room was clean with a lovely bathroom, and it was a nice touch to have water provided. Food was a real highlight — Friday dinner was incredible, and the evening bar staff were fun, chatty, and welcoming. Breakfast was good overall, and staff kindly sorted out gluten-free toast for me. The spa was another highlight — the massage was lovely and the therapist was really nice (the bamboo massage had me giggling, I'm quite ticklish!).
That said, there were a few things that fell short. The room ran quite warm and the air conditioning wasn't up to the job — a fan would have made a big difference. Water pressure was a bit mixed, which was surprising given how few guests seemed to be staying — with a fuller hotel, it's hard to imagine how stretched it would be. We were also woken around midnight by guests next door trying (and failing) to get into their room, which was disappointing. Breakfast service was noticeably better on Saturday than Sunday — dietary requirements were clearly labelled on Saturday but not on Sunday, and I only managed because I remembered from the day before, having had to ask for the gluten-free option in the first place. Background music with adverts playing was a bit annoying, and the car park, while easy enough to get into, felt quite full for the number of guests staying — clearer signage for an overflow car park would help, as it wasn't obvious which turn to take.
Overall, a genuinely lovely stay in a stunning setting, though it falls slightly short in places given the price of the rooms.
The property was set in beautiful surroundings however there was no air conditioning in the main house and I was placed in a room that was 29 degrees. Even with the window open there was no air so I did not sleep well. I had a lovely evening meal and walk but would have been more comfortable in a cooler room.
We liked everything. Location, setting, grounds, staff delightful and helpful, food good. Really good stay.

Wir hatten eine traumhafte Suite mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick - am Abend wirden wir im Restaurant mit einem schönen Abendessen verwöhnt- wir hatten Halbpension gebucht und die Karte für Halbpension war umfangreich

An amazing location, set in spacious green gardens and woodland, with a beautiful setting. Loads of outdoor space for the children to enjoy. A nice bar with terrace to sit and enjoy evening drinks and snacks. Breakfast was excellent, a reasonable sized buffet with lots of choices and excellent quality produce.
Grounds are beautiful, lovely building.
Bed was small and hard. Limited tea tray, no extras in the bathroom. We ate in the restaurant (we are a party of 8) all the starters arrived except my husbands. We ordered a red wine and they bought a fortified wine which was more like a port.
Loud music at 1am,no phone in room so had to call from mobile. They did sort the noise out.
Lots of cobwebs and generally not very clean.
