My husband and I had a terrible experience for a very expensive hotel! Guests are supposed to receive an e-mail up to 24 hours before check in with instructions if arriving late. We received it 3 hours after arriving. On calling the phone number after hours, a call service in Utah is supposed to answer. They did not pick up, leaving us panicked, not knowing if we could check in. Luckily someone was there to check us in late, although the confirmation e-mail said they would not be there. The tv did not work in the sitting area, and we had staff come 4 times to try to fix it over a 4-day period. It never worked, making that space useless. The desk attendant only said, "It worked for me", but later realized the tv never worked. The explanation of room features, amenities, and nearby attractions is a QR code on a small card, and not everyone has a phone to access that, if they see the card. The hot breakfast is only on the weekends, and we and other guests had to continually ask for the cold breakfast items to be replenished. There are 7 tables in the breakfast area to serve 132 rooms. Rooms could be a city block away, preventing guests from taking breakfast back to the room. Parking is horribly limited, and a rally of motorcycle riders was taking up too many parking spaces. Multiple times, 1 rider would use a space for the motorcycle, a space for the truck towing it, a space for the trailer, and a space for a pop-up tent. When asking for a rate adjustment, we were given 15% off, the current going promotional rate for everyone.
no working TV, no working Microwave after paying for it
Not impressed
Toliet did not work. TV did not work.
Stayed several nights in the Tremont, and had a largely enjoyable stay. The room was large and had a full kitchen which was very useful, and the bed was comfortable too. There was a good hairdryer but unfortunately the lead was too short/far from the mirror so you can’t see yourself in the mirror when drying your hair.
Breakfast could be much better - there was limited/no fresh food, but there was a waffle maker, and cutlery/plates were plastic.
Wanted to note as well that you will need to pay a deposit on arrival, and if you arrive after 7pm you will have to call a number to get access to your room key and pay the deposit. For any non-US travellers that may prove difficult - it was for us as we arrived very late and had no phone signal. The staff did manage to get hold of us relatively quickly, but that process should be improved. A QR code could be used, or the staff should be checking the day/2 days before people are arriving to make sure they’ve emailed the link to pay the deposit which would avoid the situation altogether.
There are a few restaurants and a shop nearby, and the location is great for exploring the mountains.
The pools and the hot tub were great and the grounds were really well kept. It’s a good spot for both families and couples. This hotel could really improve with minor adjustments, and we would definitely stay again.
Spacious
The staff were not very friendly and cooperative. Also there were a lot of very noisy motorcyclists. It's a real shame that in such a quiet town there was so much noise all the time! They had a party every night and were really loud.
It was close to the venue we were attending . The indoor pool and jacuzzi was wonderful and appreciated. Also the outdoor movie was new to us ( we stayed her before October 2025) unfortunately we didn’t do the outdoor movie but it was set up perfectly and with a bonfire . We definitely will have to try it next time .
The bathroom was rather dark . Some Cobwebs around the bathroom light and ceiling vent in the bathroom . Also porch light was burned out .
Beautifully landscaped property. Exterior updated
No comfortable seating in the actual room.
The office staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast having a waffle maker was more than what I expected from what Booking stated. The indoor hot tub was at a good temperature; the pool was a bit on the cool side but OK. Most of the walking path was paved and the bridges and other outside areas seemed to be in good shape. As is all of Townsend, the location is convenient for going to Cades Cove.
I feel that the new owner is trying to run this "resort" on the cheap. Rooms are listed as not being ready until 4:00 PM and yet the office closes at 5:00 PM. It seems unrealistic to think that all of the guests will be able to schedule their arrival between 4 and 5. I was given a number to call for check in however the recorded message only told me to leave a message and then within a few minutes I received a call from a different out of state number and the person asked for my credit card information, which threw up a red flag. I am thankful for a very helpful person that was working on setting up for an event who got things straightened out. The indoor pool/hot tub facility ran out of towels in the early evening and there was no one around to ask for more. A small item is that the ice bucket had no lid and the person in the office the next morning said there were no lids available, surely an entity that buys a resort can afford lids for the ice buckets.
Clean, spacious, 3- pools, and the gym was excellent

Everything was perfect the room, pool, the location, absolutely wonderful
My room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfy, the WiFi was fast, the staff was friendly. So convenient to the park. My only complaint is there is no washer/detergent on the property.
The grounds were nice. The desk clerk was nice but in a horrible situation.
The room that I booked wasn’t available. I couldn’t check in at the time they gave me. Much later it still wasn’t ready so I was offered a pet friendly room which I refused and then offered a room in a different building that was terribly run down and told it was the only king suite available. I refused this room stating that this is not what I reserved and my desire above all being cleanliness! I received another room in another building. It was not as clean as I hoped but by that point I just need to get settled to go to the Event that prompted me to go to this area to begin with. So disappointed and unsettled with my accommodations at Tremont.😔
