Staff were friendly. Indian food on the menu was really tasty. Nice spacious feel to restaurant and outdoor areas. Tissington Trail can be accessed on foot from the back of the garden.
More info in rooms like when breakfast is served and details on the Tissington Trail
Access to the tissington trail.
Only one chair in the room
Asked for another but told none were available. Even though we spotted a stack in the room next to the restaurant
Excellent dinner. Beautifully prepared and presented.
Lovely location right on the tissington trail. Large room, clean ,comfortable, safe parking, delicious breakfast, friendly staff. Restaurant is fantastic and good value for money
The food was superb
nothing was particularly bad
Nice styling. Lovely bar.
The bed was horrendous. The mattress was so awful and cheap. There were springs in our backs and it was like sleeping without one. There was no hairdryer and when asked there wasn’t one available as they are all in the mains in other rooms. You could hear everything outside the room and you could hear the staff were hoovering from 7:45/8am. The room was boiling hot and there was no fan or air on or temperature controls for the room. The cost of the room for 1 night is far too high for what the accommodation was.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Room was small and dark
Recently refurbished so the interior was well furnished, in good condition. Food in the restaurant was good and the wine list was excellent, although the reds were expensive.
The breakfast was advertised on Booking.com as being £10 but it actually cost £13 and it was traditional English breakfast but not much choice. Service in the restaurant was very slow in the evening.
In a lovely location for great walks
Excellent stay at the end of Day 1 on a 3 day cycle tour 🙂
Access straight off the Tissington Trail, secure overnight storage for our bikes, comfortable stay and superb food.
Special mention for Declan who was incredibly helpful and welcoming, despite a very busy evening in the bar and restaurant - an asset to the New Inns 😀
The newly refurbished bar and restaurant areas are very good. The staff all very good and the food was very good
Rooms in the hotel area are in need or are in the middle of being renovated, hopefully they will be up to the standards of the downstairs are, that do need to organise a wine menu sooner rather than later
The staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful and helped us check in early and gave us advice. Room was comfortable and clean if a little dated. Surroundings were quiet, but walls were thin so could hear others talking, showering etc.
Location was great for what we needed.
The hotel is undergoing renovations and what had been carried out was lovely. The room I had was not one that had been renovated but it was acceptable and it was clean. My friend had a renovated room that was very nice. The staff were lovely very friendly and accommodating. The hotel would benefit from an EV charging point as it is in the countryside and I struggled to find somewhere in the vicinity to charge my car. Saying that it will not stop me from returning.
Comfortable, convenient & very friendly staff. Great full English breakfast.
Toilet was a bit noisy & hot water took a little while to appear.
Staff very friendly and welcoming
Bed very comfortable and bedroom / bathroom clean
Shower took a long time for the hot water to come through, but it was plentiful and warm enough when it arrived
Nice continental breakfast - fruit and yoghurt, toast and jam/honey, tea and fruit juice (though we had to ask for the fruit juice)
Property is easy to find on the main road to Buxton, and deep in the countryside - perfect for walking (close to Dovedale)
The self catering apartments looked very nice and well appointed
Not a negative, but just to be aware - the main building is in the process of being renovated, this didn't affect our stay at all but standards of decor vary around the building. Also due to remote location WiFi is via satellite and sometimes is a bit flakey
Good location, comfy beds
Restaurant was closed on a Monday so we had to travel elsewhere to get dinner - didn’t know this when booking
