This is an old pub with old accommodation don’t expect to much but it was clean and comfortable
Pros:

The location was great close to Woolworths supermarket and the meals downstairs were delicious

Cons:

Like a lot of pub accommodation it was a little noisy at times but earplugs worked well

The manager/staff were friendly and courteous. I felt they made an effort to make me comfortable.
Pros:

It was convenient, friendly, comfortable, and the in-house meal was very satisfying. Good value and I felt safe. Free parking too.

Cons:

Its a bit dated and therefore confusing to negotiate,
Creaky floor in 2 places of bedroom felt a little insecure.
Nothing to put me off staying there again.

Good value, budget accommodatoin
Pros:

Close to the CBD and only 150 metres from coach stop. Easy walk to train station, Chinese gardens, museums, shops etc.
Older style budget accommodation above a pub. Room was quiet. Continental breakfast available.

perfect location; excellent value for money; and very helpful staff.
Pros:

I am a 'regular' at the Law Courts hotel whenever I come to Dunedin for work. I really like the old building and its history, and the location is perfect. The availability of parking here is a big advantage of staying here - I can park my car when I arrive, and then forget about it, and just walk everywhere during my stay. It is very good value for money, which is a key reason why I keep coming back. The people that work here are friendly, I always feel safe, the rooms are kept very clean, and the facilities (eg the kettle, little fridge) are just perfect.

Cons:

The interior decoration of the rooms is a little dated - but the rooms are kept very clean, which to me is the more important thing!

What I expected for the rate paid, functional and well located.
Pros:

Easy access, close to the city, nice to have food and drinks options on site - not as common in many places in Dunedin. Parking was generally always a non issue in the lot beside with the exception of one night.

Cons:

Bathroom was very outdated and lacking ventilation unless you opened the single window.
