Pros:

Very friendly staff. Hotel a little tired (like a lot of Scarborough) but very comfortable room and pleasant public areas, especially the small lounge.

It would have been great value for money, but if I’ve been bitten and worse if I’ve potentially brought home an infestat
Pros:

Very friendly staff, definitely some charm to the place

Cons:

I am genuinely concerned I’ve been bitten by bedbugs. I have itchy red bumps in several places on my body that have been appearing and worsening since my stay.

Really good, solid traditional hotel
Pros:

A lovely independent hotel in a good location in Scarborough. An easy walk into town over the footbridge. The room was spacious, quiet, comfortable. It has a good bar and lounge area and breakfast was really nice.

Cons:

Could maybe do with a bit of modernisation in parts, new carpets, bit of painting that sort of thing, but it's a minor criticism.

Gets what you pay for, basic but good location.
Pros:

The location is perfect and it is reasonably priced. We were supplied with a hair drying and the bedroom and bath room was a good size. The shower was nice too. We had good wardrobe space.

Cons:

We have to dust the shelf before using it. The pillows were too flat even with having 2 each. And we only have 4 milks which was okay for the first day but we were their 3 days and we didn't have anyone top them up in the day whilst we were out. Our bin wasn't emptied either. Also their were marks all down the curtains and the window netting was very grubby. The windows were very thin too so you could hear the outside noises all night.

Hotel review
Pros:

Great location as 10 minutes walk to the town or sea front. The staff are great and extremely helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

Cons:

DOGS. I know hotels need to do everything to get customers but never a fan of dogs in hotels especially when you are eating you breakfast and a dog comes sniffing round.

It was a bed for the night. Nothing more
Pros:

Easy parking outside
Lady who checked he in was helpful

Cons:

Dog hairs all over the stairs
Room was extremely dated and the wardrobe did not shut
The whole place could have been cleaner
Breakfast staff were unhelpful and rude. We had to wait 40 mins for toast to come out AFTER our breakfast, then greeted with attitude from the bar man who pulled us up on making a coffee before speaking to him. The whole breakfast saga was like faulty towers and a number of people said this. Not value for the money at all

Weekend treat
Pros:

I've stayed at the Rivelyn many times due to its central location and it has dog friendly rooms when I bring my dogs. Staff are very nice and helpful too. Breakfast is plentiful and lots of choice and my bed was so comfy I didn't want to get up.

Cons:

N/A. Yes some of the rooms are dated but they are clean and at the end of the day I don't go away to stay in my room, I use the room as a base!

Pros:

The room presentation was good, even the room was not too big as it had a queen size bed. Very nice for a single room, the ensuite toilet is small, but well distributed. (With a window).

Cons:

A bit updated, but with charm.
