One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in
Pros:

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Immaculately clean, comfortable and incredible value for money. I actually couldn't believe the facilities and service I received vs what I paid. The view of the castle was also appreciated. I only wish European or Australian hotels were this good. Highly recommended.

Cons:

Everything was fantastic. Maybe the old fashioned key was a little unconformable to carry around but that's just a minor issue.

A gracious hotel which has hosted emperors, the service reflects this
Pros:

This was a gracious hotel, and while the decor reflected an earlier age it was by no means shabby nor out of date. After all, the hotel, which is opposite the castle, has hosted emperors. It was very comfortable, and the service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was expansive with some imaginative choices.

Cons:

I would have liked an onsen, though I understand that the hotel is due for renovations so this might happen.

Classy hotel with Japan's best breakfast.
Pros:

The Castle Hotel Kumamoto was a wonderful classy hotel with a superb breakfast (Japanese/ Western/ Chinese) with nice fruits. Like most Japanese hotels, breakfast is buffet-style. Some hotels make a big performance of having chefs cutting items or preparing dishes, but the Castle does not do anything just for show. Rather, they offer a good variety of quality dishes without any pressure or theater. It was perfect. In fact, my wife and I decided that it was our best Japanese hotel breakfast, which says a lot since breakfast at a nice Japanese hotels is one of our favorite parts of a Japan-trip. We were traveling on a budget, so settled on a room without one of their views of Kumamoto-jo, but everything else felt very luxurious without being ostentatious. They have limited parking, which was very reasonably-priced. Another luxurious feature was the 11am checkout time, which allowed one to relax with breakfast and unpacking. I believe that I read that the hotel was built in order to host former Emperor Hirohito. The building still has some aspects of that Showa-style before the bubble, but has been taken care of and was a perfect place for part of our Kyushu trip. The building is perfectly located for tourists with convenient access to Kumamoto Castle or the shotengai (marketplace) with the contemporary art museum and other local spots. There was a jazz pianist also in the hotel’s (Eldarado) bar.

Cons:

Room was a bit small for three people, but most hotels in Japan would be :)

地點市中心 對面熊本城 早餐很不錯

Cons:

床 友人翻身會影響到另一人的睡眠 雖是看熊本城 但窗是我見過景觀窗最小的 90公分寛 無法好好欣賞

シングルでなく、広い部屋を提供されラッキー
Pros:

安い料金プランだったが、用意された部屋がツインルームで、広くてとても快適でした。

Cons:

何度も宿泊したホテルで朝食の美味しい和食が楽しみでしたが、昨年よりビュッフェ式になったとの事でゆっくり過ごせず残念でした。
