Superb stay - we'll be back!
Pros:

The room we had was superb. Perfect for four of us. The food in the evening also amazing and staff were brilliant

Cons:

Everything was great but the pillows were less good!

Lovely room, friendly staff and great food!
Pros:

Lovely boutique feel to the room and lots of space for us as a family. Food at the restaurant was excellent and the location was perfect for stopping off but also exploring the lakes.

Pros:

Very nice place with good room bar and restaurant.

Cons:

Very little ventilation in hot weather, cup marks all over dressing table and far too many cushions for our liking (ten in one room).

Fab find in a fab, quiet, location.
Pros:

First impressions the gardens are stunning, with an abundance of flowers, and lines in the lawn. A warm welcome at reception! The room was spacious, well dressed and very clean! Im a dust hunter. Great water pressure in the shower too. The welcome boxes for the dogs too were an added treat.

Cons:

Fresh milk in the rooms/fridge would make it 10/10. The stairs to the top floor with luggage and two dogs slightly steep/narrow but no bother to “younger” people.

A lovely small hotel with a lovely welcoming atmosphere, we will be looking forward to a return visit and stay an extra
Pros:

We loved the look of the hotel, beautiful decoration and had a very friendly atmosphere. Food was excellent and even a little gift for our dog. Location close to Kendal was a plus and very easy to find.

Comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings
Pros:

The Gateway is conveniently located.
We had a comfortable stay, with dinner and breakfast. Food was very good. The staff accommodated our request for a candle on a dessert to mark one of our party's birthday, and even provided an extra treat for her.

Cons:

Everything was great.
But there was a bad smell in our bathroom (room 8 on the top floor), maybe to do with plumbing?
