Not a 5 star hotel.

To start off, I love using booking for almost all my travel needs. I can always trust what they have as a high rating or lowest prices. But when it comes to this booking with Oryx hotel, I feel like I got scammed . This hotel is no where near 5 stars. Its probably a two star at best. The first room they gave us when we checked in, had so many issues. The room was so hot it was unbearable. We went outside on the balcony when it was a little over 100 degrees to cool down. When we went to use the bathroom, the door doesnt close. The lock for the main door to the room didnt work at all. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone up to fix it. I told them absolutely not on my time. They gave us another room. The Air conditioner was barely better. I woke up the first night sweating like I just finished running a 5k. It was so uncomfortable, me and my wife kept waking up from the heat. We constantly keep finding bugs in the room and the bathroom. Its absolutely disgusting. They have a switch for the Do not disturb. When we want down for breakfast, we came back and there is a guy standing half inside our room and half outside. I told him what are you doing? He said we are going clean your room. I told him I have the DND button on. He is like no, its not on. I tell him look its on. He tried messing around with it, and of course it doesnt work. I was so upset because we woke up in a rush to catch the breakfast which is not worth waking up for. Our inner clothing was exposed and we were so embarrassed. Out of all the issues, this was the worst of all. I never experienced such awful things in a hotel. I am extremely disappointed in Bookings for misleading valued customers (check out other reviews) this way. After reading the reviews of past customers, these issues with hotel weren't a one time thing, its a normal experience at this hotel. To be honest I am not sure I will be ever using booking for any of my travel needs.

Service was nice and had lovely welcoming with plate of sweet

The location of the hotel was great and close to the beach and to the downtown

Cons:

There was stains on the bathtub and towels weren’t clean I had to ask another ones so changed them. The door lock was broken.
