I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by my experience at Hotel Portao Diaz.

I booked this accommodation based on the photographs and description provided on Booking.com. Unfortunately, what I encountered upon arrival was completely different from what was advertised.

The bed linen was dirty, the pillowcases were so old and worn that they were practically see-through, the bathroom was filthy, and the floors were dirty.

To make matters worse, the door locks were broken, raising serious concerns about the security of the accommodation. There were also garbage bags left in the corridors, adding to the overall unhygienic and neglected appearance of the property.

The condition of this establishment was so unacceptable that I immediately turned around and left. I did not spend a single night at the hotel.

I deliberately chose to leave quietly rather than risk an unnecessary confrontation with the establishment.

I subsequently contacted Booking.com requesting a refund, but have received no response.

I find it extremely disappointing that guests can book accommodation based on advertised photographs only to arrive and find conditions that are completely different.

Cleanliness, basic hygiene, security and honest advertising should be the minimum standards expected from any establishment accepting paying guests.

I cannot recommend Hotel Portao Diaz based on my experience. I believe a full refund is justified, as the accommodation was not in an acceptable condition for me to stay in.

The gentleman at reception was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Cons:

The pictures on Booking.Com, of the facility are extremely deceiving. The location is UNSAFE. Upon check-in , the room we had booked, had not been cleaned /bed was not made up and we had to be moved to another room. The place is bad.

The staff was really helpful and welcoming, the view was perfect and the distance around the city was convenient. They do their best to keep the place clean!

The beds were the only letdown for us, beds were so uncomfortable that they could use an upgrade.
