I loved my stay at the shoal and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking at staying in La Jolla.
Pros:

The property’s location was really close to the beach and walking distance from many great restaurants and retail stores. The staff really made me feel comfortable with communication through texts and quick response to any needs or concerns.

Great Location - Service - Price - Best for Beautiful Vacation
Pros:

The staff was AMAZING and the Shoal was an exceptionally clean facility. Rooms were new and well designed. Location excellent. Walk to beach Windansea just 3 minute walk. We had our car but due to La Jolla being so crowded these days we Ubered to excellent La Jolla dining spots but returned to the calm of our gem of a hotel. Pool and spa so clean. And food (the best breakfast place) called Cafe Vahik is literally steps away from the Shoal. Only disappointment was TV reception. Wanted to watch the US play in World Cup. But no luck bc of their very much a lack of TV service. No Netflix, no movie channels etv. We had to watch on my computer. If I had not brought that it would have been trying to watch it on my iPhone.

Stressful
Pros:

We liked that WindanSea beach is just down the street.

Cons:

$20.00 a night for parking on top of the $400.00 a night rate for an older well used facility. This place is more motel than hotel. First night we had dinner and upon our return, the parking lot was full. Along with all of the near by street street parking. Took a shower in a bath tub with a slow drain so the tub filled up. Pretty gross. The dish cable box had to be reset and we had a noisy person above us.

The staff was great. When our plans changed they accommodated us with a change to our checkout date.
Pros:

Great staff, nice hotel with pool and hot tub. Free parking. Good location, lots within walking distance.

Cons:

No breakfast. Windansea is not the best beach in La Jolla. Small beach with rough water.
