Hübsches Haus und geschmackvolles Zimmer
Der Ausblick aus dem Zimmer war gar nicht schön und es war viel Verkehrslärm. Leider wird in booking auch nicht beschrieben, dass das Haus Teil eines Immobilienimperiums ist, denen die halbe Stadt gehört. Das Frühstück ist deshalb gar nicht vor Ort, sondern einen guten Fußweg entfernt in der Ortsmitte. Hätten wir das gewusst, hätten wir das Hotel nicht gebucht.

We found food from previous guests in the fridge which had a terrible smell. And a lot of ants in the room.

Our stay at Villa Liberty, part of the Borgo Collection, was overall very enjoyable. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, and the level of hospitality remained consistently high throughout our visit. The à la carte breakfast was excellent, offering a thoughtful selection of dishes that felt fresher and more refined than a standard buffet. We were also pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a room with beautiful views over the Val d’Orcia, which was a generous and much‑appreciated gesture.
The property represents the albergo diffuso concept very well. This model, where rooms are distributed across restored buildings within the village, supports the revitalisation of historic communities and offers guests a more authentic experience. Our accommodation in the villa located outside the main borgo was particularly enjoyable thanks to the large private outdoor area, which is a real advantage in sunny weather. The short walk to the restaurant and other areas of the borgo was not inconvenient and added to the charm of the stay.
The welcome drinks served in the beautifully maintained garden were another elegant touch. The room was clean and comfortable, although the mattress was slightly too soft for our personal preference.
The restaurant is excellent and worth booking on its own. The cuisine was of high quality, and the wine list for degustation was exceptionally well curated, reflecting a deep understanding of the region’s strengths.
The main area that requires improvement is the cleanliness of the private outdoor space. Given its size and potential, it would benefit from more thorough maintenance, including a proper jet wash. The whirlpool was not clean, which was disappointing. Even if some guests may not use it due to water temperature, it should always be presented in a clean and ready‑to‑use condition. This feature is a valuable asset to the room and could be better maintained and more clearly highlighted in the property description.
Additionally, the website and Booking.com listing could provide clearer information regarding:
- the activities available to book
- how parking works
- the size and layout of the parking area
- and a simpler explanation of the albergo diffuso concept
At the moment, the information is somewhat limited and can be confusing for guests trying to understand the structure of the property and the logistics. A more straightforward and detailed explanation would greatly improve the booking experience.

Hôtel pas accessible pour personnes à mobilité réduite et surtout le restaurant à l’autre bout du village, 10 minutes à pied, y compris pour prendre le petit déjeuner le matin

Un esperienza fantastica ,l'idea dell'albergo diffuso è ottima ,ben organizzata ,dove l'ospitalità si aggiunge .al profumo di casa ,staff accogliente e preparato ,sempre con il sorriso .Colazione ottima con prodotti del posto ,cena top il tutto curato nel più piccolo particolare .. complimenti alla famiglia Genovese che è riuscita a creare un capolavoro dentro a uno dei paesaggi più belli d'Italia.
