It was okay just not nice to be moved around when you’ve booked for a room.
Pros:

It was convenient location with shops, food places and train station nearby.

Cons:

The manager over booked . So on the 2nd we first got disturbed by the housekeeper telling us check out 11am. We were booked till 4th July. Then the housekeeper came back apologised and we got moved to another room. Because the manager booked our original room to someone else. This other room was more noisy!!

Pros:

The air-conditioning was really good. It was a heatwave but reaching hotel room was such a relief.

Cons:

The washroom was too narrow. The stair were really steep and difficult with bags.

Had Bed bugs in this hotel

Staff friendly .

Cons:

Bed bugs badly infected in this hotel . It was Very noisy in the night as it located above a large pub with live music on in the evening; no matter ear plugs provided, couldn’t sleep until music all gone . Reported the hotel management regarding bed bugs bitten, but they refused to look at the issue.

Unacceptable hygiene standards and lack of action from staff led us to cut our stay short.

Unfortunately, the conditions at McCafferty's Guesthouse Ilford were unacceptable and forced us to leave after the first night and book alternative accommodation at our own expense.

The toilets were in a particularly unsanitary condition upon arrival. We immediately reported this to staff. An employee later informed us that the toilets had been checked and were "okay". However, they had clearly not been cleaned and we ultimately had to clean them ourselves. Even after presenting photographic evidence to the manager, no action was taken beyond the offer of a complimentary drink.

The hygiene standards throughout Room 5 were equally unacceptable. The bedding contained (blood?) stains, hair and crumbs, the carpet was visibly dirty. The air-conditioning unit was so dirty and foul-smelling that it could not be used despite the heat wave. A night of nightmares.
