Disappointing stay
Pros:

The hotel is located very close to the SMN station, you can walk it up within 3-5 mins. It is also very close to the Duomo and the shopping street, which was very convenient for us. The superior rooms are large enough for two people, it also had a tiny balcony but no view of the street or the city.

Cons:

The shower pressure was too low for us, we even complained about it to the receptionist. At the time of checking in, I also mentioned to them that we’re celebrating my parents’ birthdays and I requested for an upgrade on our rooms. Unfortunately, they were unable to do that but told us they would provide us with the privilege room amenities. However, we didn’t get any special amenities in the rooms. Most of the hotels at least leave a cake & a greeting card in the rooms generally when we celebrate our special day with them. It was so disappointing that a chain hotel like Mercure didn’t go out of the way for us. The breakfast team, however, brought in a cake for my mum’s birthday and a special omelet for my dad’s birthday - but that was all.

Also, there were no toothbrushes, shower caps, sanitary bags or any other items in the bathroom. Maybe it’s because they’re more eco-friendly but these are the basic necessities. I feel the hotel charged me a bomb for the kind of service they offer. I don’t think it was worth the money.

Two supermarkets close by.
Walking distance to all the tourist attractions.
Staff super friendly and made you feel welcome.
Loved our stay! Highly recommend

The Perfect Hotel
Pros:

This is a fabulous property.
We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't be any happier.

Great value & unbeatable location - 3 minute walk from train station. Super convenient for food options (pizerria, KFC, McD, Chinese, halal foods, central market food court). Landmarks are all within convenient stroll, even the bus to piazalle Michaeangelo stops right on the next block.

Room was comfortable & large, we had a full king size + sofa bad that rolled into a queen size. Hallways, lobby were very clean and virtually spotless. Water dispenser is a nice & thoughtful touch by the management.

The real gem was, however, the front office team, in particular Margherita who checked us in. She was highly professional, courteous, super friendly, and engaging. What stood out from the front office team, compared to the other 4 Accor properties we stayed in on this trip in EU, was their efficiency, proactive attitude and full-on hospitality mindset to provide assistance and services to guests (even before we arrived - thanks to Maria Skoryna). Even the maintenance & housekeeping staffs were courteous (which is unusual in EU).

This hotel is a real winner, should be every tourist's first choice in Firenze.

Nice and convenient stay. We walk everywhere by foot in the city
Pros:

We chose the hotel because it is very near the railway station. Minutes walk when arrived by train and picked up rental car for ongoing road trip

Cons:

Not much accessories like there is no slippers though it was stated in website it has.
