Disgusted.
Cons:

Very dirty. Asked the room to be cleaned and the cleaning worker said it had already been done. We used a whole canister of clorox wipes on the room. When scrubbing the floor the wipes can up with so much dirt and crumbs they were dark, dark grey. Elevator was like a saw trap. Sheets & duvet are stained. Peephole was just stuffed with a paper towel? Lampshades were either covered in grime and stains or straight up burned holes? Breakfast is borderline nonexistent. As much as we paid to stay here this is unacceptable.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The room was extremely unclean upon arrival, and to make matters worse, there were bugs in the room, including bugs crawling on me during my stay. This was completely unacceptable and made the room feel unsanitary and uninhabitable.

When I brought the issue to management’s attention, I was told housekeeping had already left and that it was a busy weekend. While I understand staffing challenges happen, guests should still receive a clean and properly maintained room when paying over $100 for a stay.

After waiting a week, I was only issued an $11.25 partial refund on a $113.65 charge, which did not appropriately reflect the severity of the situation.

Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not stay here again.

I cut my stay short I checked out early the next day
Pros:

Nothing it was like walking in a jail

Cons:

I didn’t like the room or the staff they put me in a room that was already occupied then moved me to another room and the tv didn’t work. The guy came and looked at it and said I don’t know what wrong with it sorry. So all night we had no tv to watch

Pros:

Nothing!!!

Cons:

Do not book, it was not clean and looks nothing like the pictures. Ducks was swimming in the pool and it doesn’t feel safe in the room. Bedding and towels were dirty I booked for two days and I didn’t stay. I didn’t feel clean. Room smells really bad

Disappointing
Pros:

One helpful employee frequently had to manage by himself and try to be everywhere, in order to:
save the day by doing someone else's job,
explain why something wasn't available,
explain why the lobby was inaccessible (a lot),
explain that (incredibly) there were no stations to get ice, explain why, (despite posted hours for continental breakfast), the lobby containing the breakfast was sometimes locked during those very same posted breakfast hours.

Cons:

Substandard service, lack of staff, lack of basics, such as ice. For more, see above.

Great value, even greater stay!!
Pros:

Very clean and as advertised. The hosts are big sell here, they're great and made sure I was happy at every (reasonable) request. I like the area it is in and I felt safe on the property. I will visit again and would suggest you give them a shot, especially for the cost, it can't be beat!!

Per Dollar, NO HOTE/MOTEL is on a level with this Howard Johnson at 512 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, Va. The most commendable staff, the BEST WI-FI ON THE OCEAN FRONT! There's even HBO, and all of the channels for MARCH MADNESS...Nightly price? A FRACTION OF ALL SURROUNDING INN'S, HOTELS, MOTELS
