Lovely place to stay would stay again 😁
Pros:

Great location,comfortable, lovely staff, yummy breakfast.

Cons:

We arrived on Saturday evening function and a live band so very noisy but on saying that it is a pub so should have expected that but Sunday was very quiet so if wanting comfort and quiet Sunday through to Thursday is the way to go 🤪😁

Food and staff was great. Room not so good
Pros:

Breakfast was fine. Staff were fabulous. Rooms : no tea towel, no cloth to cleanup and no dishwasher to clean coffee cups.
Food in the restaurant was exceptional

Cons:

Better lighting in our room .

We enjoyed the ambience of the Prince of Wales with an easy walk to the coffee strip.
Pros:

We checked in at the front bar of the hotel. The lady who helped could not have been better. she gave clear directions to the room location which was outside and up some stairs. Parking was onsite. A man (manager/owner?) helped us with directing us to walk on Victoria St rather than through the old railway station to get to BREC. We appreciated his solicitous advice. Thank you. There was a band playing in the lounge when we returned from the concert. We could hear them outside but when we entered our room the band sound was well and truly muffled. That was good because we needed to sleep. The Indonesian lady who prepared our breakfast was delightful. Where else can you get eggs, made into a happy face, for breakfast? Even the dog who came for a nuzzle at breakfast time was friendly. My partner was fascinated with all the framed T-shirts with the names of bands that had played at the Prince of Wales. Our room was comfortable with few frills but adequate to our needs. Security was in evidence. The standout for this hotel was the positive interactions with the staff.

Cons:

The coffee and the tea. I need to remember to bring my own. Yes, I am too fussy.

We were arriving late as we had a cancelled flight from NZ.
They happily put key in lock with great instructions.
