Room facing street very noisy because of the street traffic

I guess they shouldn't call themselves a hotel. They only have rooms to rest in.
When I checked in, they asked me to pay RM 20, even though I'd booked and paid for everything in advance through booking.com. That was a first for me. Since the total wasn't much, I didn't argue, but it should really be mentioned somewhere because for that price, you might find a better place.
Since we were a family of 4, we had to book 2 rooms, which makes sense, but usually, the rooms would be next to each other with a connecting door, based on my experience in other countries. Maybe Malaysia is different.
The hall smelled like cigarettes, but the rooms were all clean and tidy.
Overall, it's cheap and worth it for a sleep. If you're planning to stay inside during the day, you might get bored; there's no entertainment.
Did not like the property at all
The reception area has a smell. In one of the lifts the mat was old and disgusting (see photo below)
The window in the room was not sound proof, could hear the traffic, motorbikes & cars racing till about 2 am.
The room is big and clean. The water pressure is good too. Overall is good.
Our room is facing the main road and the window is not 100% tightly close, which you can hear the noise of the car passing by whole night.

When we got off from the elevator to our room, we were immediately hit with a very unpleasant smell of cigarettes outside the elevator...I think this should be aware with..
The location was excellent. Easy walk to the nice mall and many lovely small eateries as well
Only one thing. The roos facing the main road could do with heavy curtains to dampen he traffic noise. Excellent service from the staff and the oom was sparkling clean. Also I left a very expensive electric razor in my room. The hotel promptly contacted me and held it for my return.
