We had a lovely relaxing stay which was perfect apart from the chef’s attitude.
Pros:

Location, room, friendly staff

Cons:

The chef let us down regarding a blue cheese sauce I’d pre-requested to go with husband’s steak and restaurant manager confirmed he could have. Chef on evening of our anniversary meal refused to make it and we got charged for it! We complained when checking out. Restaurant Manager came and apologised and was furious with him. She took off service charge and cost of wine and cheese sauce from bill.

Heerlijk hotel op prachtige plek. We vonden het jammer dat we niet nog een nacht konden blijven.

Wonderful views and calming rooms.
Pros:

The location of this hotel is absolutely unbeatable. It looks right over Freshwater Bay and we had a balcony that gave a wonderful view of the beach and the cliffs. Rooms were great and check in was excellent.

Cons:

The service at breakfast was very slow both days we were there. We had to call staff over to take our orders and even then they seemed to be in no hurry to service us and acted like they were in fact doing us a favour overall.
We ate in the restaurant on our first night and this was also a lovely setting on the patio. Unfortunately the service was similar then and I had the lobster which made me very ill later in the night. A bit of a shame as otherwise it was good.

Lovely hotel in a lovely setting on the beach.
Pros:

The location is great and the room very comfortable, lovely sea views.

Cons:

They need to get a grip in the restaurant if they want to keep the type of customer your trying to attract. The food is very good but the staff seem quite disorganised tables left uncleared, orders getting missed. Don’t forget you are competing with the Hut up the road.

It was sublime! The best stay and the best restaurant in Isle of Wight.
Pros:

It's in an exceptional location, tranquil and beautiful (we visited most other beaches in the island, and loved the freshwater bay the most)
and this was one of the best ocean view room we ever had in our travels around the world..
I highly recommend to try the restaurant too. We ate at the other best reviewed seafood restaurants in the island as well, but our best dinner was at Rock. The main chef really put his effort to deliver the best seasonal ingredients in perfection. We will be back for more beautiful memories! Thank you.

Pros:

The location is outstanding with excellent views across Freshwater Bay. Perfectly placed for dramatic walks long the coastline.
The wifi was terrible in the room and even though I'm on vacation I still need decent access to wifi.
The breakfast buffet was adequate - but attention needs to be made to ensure it remains clean and tidy despite the efforts of the other guests.

Cons:

As above, wifi and breakfast buffet weren't up to standard for a premium hotel.

Very good but avoid dining room

Location good and food good when you finally received it.

Cons:

Had problems at breakfast and dinner. It took an hour to get breakfast one day. Another day you had to have a full English breakfast instead of ordering 3 items and told to leave rest. It took a while to get to order cooked breakfast as staff always busy.
The evening meal fared no better as when ordered waited over an hour then asked told would not be long, still didn’t appear manager came then and said would not be long, asked for some bread for my husband as he is diabetic. Eventually the main course came but still had not had starters. Took away and shortly starters came but my husbands was the wrong starter. Had to wait again while another was made. This service did not live up to the lovely staff and the hotel.

Amazing stay
Pros:

Stunning location with views straight out to the ocean and really helpful and friendly staff (big shoutout to Heather for taking us last minute to the Needles in the free cab!). The air conditioning was also a luxury during summer. Breakfast was great too! We would definitely stay here again

Cons:

Dust and cobwebs around the balcony door should be cleaned but otherwise a very comfortable stay
