La comida y la limpieza.
Por la tarifa abonada podria haber estado incluido el desayuno! y la temperatura de la piscina era fresca

Capacidade baixa de equipe no checking e checkout. Grandes filas.
Honestly we really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro. The room was brilliant, spacious, modern and really comfortable. The pool area was our favourite parts, with plenty of space and separate pools for families and adults, so it never felt too busy.
Additionally, staff were all really friendly and couldn't do enough for us, and the food was genuinely some of the best we've had at a hotel.
The only downside was the location. If you're planning to spend most of your time around Barra, it's perfect, with some great restaurants and lovely beaches within walking distance. But if you want to visit the main sights in Rio, the traffic can make taxi rides much longer than you'd think.
In terms of rating:
Hotel: 5/5
Location: 4/5
Service: 5/5
We recently spent six nights at the Grand Hyatt Rio after staying five nights at the JW Marriott Copacabana. The contrast in service between the two hotels was striking.
Let me start with the positives. The property itself is beautiful, well maintained, and the facilities are excellent. The Grand Club staff consistently provided warm, attentive service and were one of the highlights of our stay.
Unfortunately, the rest of our experience fell well below what we’ve come to expect from the Hyatt brand (note- I’m a globalist and stay at Hyatts 70-80 nights per year, largely for work)
Throughout our stay, we experienced a series of service failures that, while individually minor, became incredibly frustrating over six nights.
Housekeeping requests routinely required multiple follow-ups. It took four requests to receive a rollaway bed for our suite, and when it finally arrived, it was broken. Despite several additional calls and WhatsApp messages, it was never replaced.
The room key situation was another recurring issue. Because of the hotel’s system conversion, our keys repeatedly stopped working or were incorrectly programmed. I estimate I spent nearly two hours waiting at the front desk over the course of our stay dealing with key-related problems. On our final day alone, I had to return to the front desk after being given keys that didn’t work, resulting in another 25-minute wait.
Communication between departments also seemed inconsistent. Guest Relations told me via WhatsApp that I could exchange U.S. dollars at the concierge. When I arrived, I was told the hotel didn’t offer currency exchange. After showing the message, I was then told someone could come in—but only if I exchanged a minimum of USD 500. I only needed a small amount of local currency for tips. Rather than helping identify a nearby exchange office, I was simply directed to an ATM.
I’ve been a loyal Hyatt guest for many years because I’ve always believed Hyatt excels at customer service. Sadly, this stay did not reflect that reputation.
Would I stay here again? Possibly, because the property itself is excellent. However, management needs to focus on improving consistency in service, communication between departments, and staff training. If those issues are addressed, this hotel has the potential to be outstanding.
I will say, one of the Asst GM’s (Isabella) was very nice at reaching out to help. But I think even she realized the service gaps were wide.
If you're a Hyatt member looking for a true hidden gem in the Hyatt portfolio and a fantastic way to maximize your points, look no further than the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro.
This hotel exceeded all of my expectations. It offers all the perks of a luxury resort without requiring you to spend a fortune or redeem an excessive number of points. Complimentary beach chairs, towels, bicycles, an outstanding fitness center, sauna, and beautiful ocean views make the experience exceptional from start to finish.
A special thank you to Alice Fraga at check-in. She took the time to explain all of my Hyatt member benefits and made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived.
I was honestly surprised by the incredible value for a property carrying the Grand Hyatt name. The location is outstanding, right on Barra da Tijuca Beach, with excellent restaurants, shopping malls, and the beach just steps away.
As a Hyatt Explorist who has stayed at many Hyatt boutique hotels and resorts around the world, I can confidently say this is the best Club Lounge I have ever experienced. Chef Angélica and her team do an outstanding job. The selection of local specialties is excellent, everything is delicious, and the hotel's own bakery makes the pastries and breads especially memorable. After enjoying the generous happy hour—including excellent caipirinhas—you probably won't even need to go out for dinner.
Whether you're visiting Rio for business or leisure, the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro delivers an experience that far exceeds expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for exceptional value, outstanding service, and a memorable Hyatt stay
Exceptional hotel...my best experience with Hyatt todate. our room was outstanding and the location of the hotel right across from the beach, combined with all the amenities at the hotel truly made it an exceptional experience.
Fantastico!! The bar staff at the pool bar were excellent and after a few drinks offered us free champagne 🍾 as a gift! Much appreciated…give those guys a raise 😊
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Rio last year for our anniversary and it was the most amazing stay. Bruno Branco and the whole staff made us feel very special from check in time to check out. Room was great, food was great, cleaning, the spa, the lounge, the pool. Everything was amazing. Thank you so much for your hospitality!
