Overall a comfortable stay, but would have liked a five star stay for approximately $1000 per night
Pros:

Location, cleanliness, common rooms, and patio were great. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were nicely decorated. Bathrooms were spotless and had a great shower.

Cons:

Wish our room had been large enough to accommodate a chair.
For the amount of money the hotel costs, it would have been nice to have more breakfast options.
New water glasses each day would have helped since they were used for water, wine, etc.
Location was quiet despite being located downtown but glad we wore earplugs since the noise from other rooms was noticeable.
Lastly, we had to keep a prescription medication in a common fridge and the morning we were leaving someone took it. Extremely odd.

Happy with the stay, but don't stay on the first floor facing the street.
Pros:

Great location. Great amenities. Great decoration and comfort.

Cons:

The rooms on the first floor facing the street are rooms in which it's difficult to get a good night's sleep. It is very noisy on the street very early in the morning with delivery trucks etc.

Great location, room for improvement
Pros:

The location was perfect; an easy walk to shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. We loved the complimentary bikes, the cozy front porch with rocking chairs, the refillable glass water bottles, complimentary drinks and snacks, and the delicious continental breakfast. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability was also a nice touch.

Unfortunately, cleanliness and comfort fell short of expectations. Our room had visible dust, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, hair in a dresser drawer, and the stairways were noticeably dirty. The bathroom was also quite small and lacked a makeup/magnifying mirror, which is something I expect at nearly $1,000 per night.

When I asked the manager about a makeup mirror, I was told to buy one at the pharmacy down the street, which happened to be closed on Sunday. A more thoughtful response, such as offering to provide one the next day, would have made a much better impression.

Fabulous location
Pros:

Fabulous location walking distance to everything- stylish common areas - smallish rooms - suggest follow prices closer to arrival as they dropped significantly from when we booked (don’t book non refundable rate!)

Overpriced, Understaffed, and Indifferent to Guests
Pros:

We paid more than $625 per night for a sea-view king room and left wondering where the money went.

The room was tiny, and the advertised "water view" amounted to a rooftop view with only a narrow sliver of ocean visible in the distance. There was no chair to sit on while putting on shoes, no blackout shades to block the morning sun, and the old windows allowed noticeable drafts and there was no heat.

The hotel appeared severely understaffed. We were told there were only two housekeepers working, so our room wasn't serviced until late in the day. The walls were thin enough that we could clearly hear guests on both sides of us.

The hotel's "free bikes" sounded like a nice amenity until we learned there were only seven bikes available for 31 rooms. Guests could reserve them for the entire day, making them effectively unavailable to everyone else. The front desk directed us to a bike rental shop down the street but failed to mention it be closed when we arrived.

Entertainment options were equally disappointing. There was no cable television, no network channels, no ESPN, and no live sports, just a limited internet-based TV service.

The complimentary breakfast consisted largely of shelf-stable, processed foods, which felt especially disappointing given that an excellent bakery is across the street.

Taken individually, these issues might be forgivable. Taken together, they created the impression that guest comfort was not a priority. What should have felt like a relaxing seaside getaway instead felt like an expensive tourist trap. We left disappointed and with no desire to return.
