Lovely property, well located for a short walk to the harbour, Peter was brilliant and a great, healthy breakfast!
Pros:

Peter’s initial and very genuine welcome made a huge first impression as did the free upgrade!

Pros:

Centrally located. Within walking distance to wharfs and mansions. Parking was also at the hotel or right next store. Staff friendly and gave suggestions for food and things to do. Breakfast was light and healthy with multiple options. The chocolate chip cookies are excellent.

Beautiful Inn in Newport
Pros:

We loved the Attwater! The decor is beautiful, and our room was perfect! It’s located in a great location to easily walk to the restaurants and shops, and they gave us great advice on where to go and what to do. We will definitely return.

Hidden Gem
Pros:

My daughter and I had a lovely experience here. The location was perfect - off the beaten track but yet in the center of everything. We could walk everywhere which was great because parking is a challenge in town. Great recommendations from the inn keeper as to restaurants, sites to see, literature. The room was adorable, clean and comfy. Loved the robes. Lobby inviting. A relaxing get away after a long day of touring.

Nice but not worth the price.
Pros:

Staff was great, location was perfect, breakfast was marginal but good enough to get us out the door each morning.

Cons:

The hotel is an old house and while cleverly decorated, it is not what I would consider a ‘boutique’ hotel. It needs a serious renovation or at least a refresh. I would not stay here again at the price I paid with the condition of the hotel.

Pros:

This was super comfortable hotel, the staff was always super friendly and helpful. The location was perfect to be bale to walk to the different neighborhoods in town. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Enjoyable stay in good location
Pros:

Lovely guest house-type hotel in a good location a few streets back from the waterfront. We had a king room which was a large bedroom with a sitting area - both lovely and great amount of space. Small breakfast selection in the morning which we opted not to use. Lovely property but definitely pricey for what it is - paint could do with refreshing in places too. That said, we enjoyed our stay and we’re glad to have chosen the Attwater for our time in Newport.

Cons:

Almost more of an Air BnB feel as didn’t see any staff the entire stay, other than the housekeeper on one occasion. Our room was on the 3rd floor which had no elevator which could be an issue for some - something to be mindful of. (We were fine but definitely a challenge with large suitcases!)

Excellent Service and Unique Experience
Pros:

The Attwater is a little gem in Newport.
It provides a unique experience of a hotel and a friend’s house.
The room is clean and the bed is super comfortable.
The bathrooms are small, but adequate for a couple of nights.
Don’t bring heavy luggage, we were just passing through, but we brought in a heavy suitcase we had to carry up the stairs.
Breakfast was simple, but filling. We had an egg quiche, yogurt, a blueberry bread and egg.
Location is great. Walked most places.
We enjoyed sipping the in the colorful living room. My only suggestions is to have a couple of game choices to play.
Overall, a great experience if you’re looking for something different than a traditional hotel.
