We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel has a good atmosphere. It is comfortable and welcoming

Excellent dinner menu
Spacious restaurant and rooms with fires where you could eat and drink comfortably

Cons:

Paintwork in bedroom needed touching up
Carpet on stairs to bedrooms was threadbare in places and needs replacing

Pub with excellent breakfast and good location
Pros:

The pub is in the high street so shops and restaurants within easy reach. Our room was a good size with a bath and a shower, breakfast was excellent, staff were helpful.

Cons:

Floorboards were very creaky in the room which didn't really bother us, but would have been very noisy for anyone below.

Car parking abit of a struggle for disabled guests ( although appreciate the location is abit restrictive)

Good value for money
Pros:

It's a nice looking local pub selling locally brewed beer and with a traditional atmosphere. It was pleasantly busy for a Wednesday night. The staff were relaxed and the food was above average and showed the chef had imagination - even if sometimes the combinations of ingrediants were a bit unexpected - or eccentric.

Cons:

The muzak- though to be fair, it was less bad than in plenty of other places I've stayed.
