good
Pros:

People at front desk and last valet parking driver. The first one was rude.

Cons:

first valet parking driver when we checked in. Breakfast could offer better choices and even almond milk or better cereals. More healthy options

Great place if you want to explore around the area and get to Manhattan easily.
Pros:

I love that this hotel is in the heart of Great Neck and it should be the showcase there and I hope they do well but it must have a lot of competition or it has lost market share in some way. It is beautiful with its Art Deco theme but sadly it does need some TLC in some areas. On my first day there of course you don't notice things but then second day I notice the toilet seat was loose, the wall sockets would not hold the plug for my phone. The Keurig supplies were not replaced, i.e. the envelopes with sugar etc. Put some stirrers on the tray and a few creamers and sugar separately. The lotion pot in the bathroom did not work at all and I was told I could take the top off and use my hands and I did respond that it was disgusting to do that but was assured new containers were being delivered. The free standing AC was controllable but when on it was noisy and hard to sleep with so we cranked it up to cool the room and then slept with it off. On the front of the hotel it was quiet albeit a Pizza place is opposite with people outside. The railroad is, I think, on the back of the hotel. On my second night we wanted a snack from room service but sadly I do not think they have room service as there is no room menu. There is absolutely no information in the room about Great Neck and surrounding areas to visit and no information about how the hotel works or hours of restaurant, etc. Where are the info books you get in 4/5 star places? There is 24/7 coffee/tea station in the lobby which also serves for the restaurant at breakfast time too.

I did go to the reception desk to complain about the above and was greeted by someone purporting to be the manager without a jacket or tie on and just standing looking at a lot of paper mess on the desk. He did not greet me at all and I had to ask him if he was the duty manager which he said he was. He did note the items I spoke about but is this really the image of this hotel? I tried calling down to order food but none of the buttons on the phone connected but at reception I was told all I had to do was press "zero". Why have that phone then?

On Saturday, we came down as usual but the restaurant was in darkness and no one was there but an elderly gent who came down behind us called out to someone in the kitchen who appeared. We asked if we could get some breakfast and was told to use one of the menus which was on the desk and we could order something, which we did. Why is there no information about this anywhere when this is supposed to be a boutique hotel in a major part of New York. I definitely think the place is beautiful, and an absolute asset to the town and it was very clean but they need to jack up their service for visitors and make it look that way. The food we had was avocado toast which was well prepared and hot and so we enjoyed out last day in semi darkness eating our food.

The seating in the reception area is Art Deco but very uncomfortable if you are waiting for a lift to come for you. You would not want to sit and read your paper sitting in those chairs.

I would return to the hotel again as it was very convenient for us with family in the area and I do wish them well in this economy because the room rates are high. In my opinion they should be encouraging outsiders to come and visit the great areas surrounding Great Neck, the shopping, the convenience of being close to the LIRR for Manhattan. It has it all there. We visited Westbury Gardens and it was beautiful and lush and had beautiful gardens and a cafe.

We love Inn at Great Neck and Nate G!
Pros:

My family of 5 came to Great Neck Inn a few weeks ago for a wedding in the area, and this was the hotel that the out of town guests all stayed at. The hotel was very nice but a huge reason we loved this hotel was the service. Nate G. was the best! He went above and beyond to give us info on the hotel as well as got us everything we needed to settle in. By the second day Nate knew us by name. I will definitely come back, but Nate G. better still be there!

Overpriced
Pros:

It’s barely nicer than a Marriott but charges 3x the price. You will be disappointed. Room had bare walls, cheap white lights, AC didn’t work, and little sound insulation from outside or hallways. Really not pleased given how much they charged for the room. Do not recommend.
