The reception staff, morning staff, and one of the bar staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was great and the other meals were good too. The room was quiet and clean, and the bar had a reasonable selection of beers, whiskies etc.
Being harrassed to book a table for lunch only to find that in a room with 10 tables no one else turned up for four hours. Some of the staff are rather curt, verging on rude, which is a shame because other staff were very nice.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room overall looked lovely, was clean with good facilities. We really appreciated the tunnocks goodies instead of the usual biscuits.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the menu was varied and the standard fantastic.
Breakfast was decent enough and at a good price.

As others have said, don't be put off by the unusal exterior, if anything it adds to the quirkiness.

Staff kind snd friendly. Parking was good. Plenty of spaces. Beeakfast was first class worh plenty of options. Bed comfortable. We had shower in bath but most other rooms. had lovely large showers. Good location. Great find.
The property looks deceptive from the outside, but once you enter the door it is cosy and welcoming , the staff are very friendly,polite and welcoming,
The rooms are well equipped,maintained ,warm and comfortable, the breakfast is excellent,
Would I stay here again? Most definitely, it’s better than the chain hotel up the road.
In my room there was no sockets at the headboard end of the bed for charging your phone and using it as an alarm, the sockets were behind the TV on the other side of the room.
The noise from the road , was what awoke me instead.
