The staff were exceptionally kind, friendly and welcoming. Their warmth and hospitality really made a positive difference to my stay.
The food in the hotel restaurant was lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meals there.
Overall, I had a pleasant stay and appreciated the welcoming atmosphere.
Unfortunately, the shower and bath water was only lukewarm rather than properly hot. I wanted to have a bath but eventually had to boil water in the kettle and add it to the bath to make it warm enough. I appreciate this may have been an issue specific to my room or during my particular stay, but reliable hot water is an important basic facility.
One slightly unusual thing happened on my first night. The bathroom has a translucent skylight, and at night I noticed what appeared to be the shadow of a person on the other side of it. As I was travelling alone, I found it a little unsettling at the time and took a photograph. By the following morning, however, the shadow had completely disappeared. I’m sure there was a perfectly innocent explanation, perhaps something outside or simply the way the light was falling, so I don’t want to speculate. I didn’t raise it with the hotel during my stay, but thought it was worth mentioning in case there is an obvious explanation.
The bedrooms were big, the bed was lovely. The service here is exceptional. You’re treated like family. The food is delicious. What a place.

My sister and I were impressed with the reception staff, especially Celine who was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
We might have had breakfast, except it finished too early at 9am on the day we checked out.
Plenty of parking. Staff pleasant and helpful. The room proceeds was on the ground level which was a welcome break from having to cart bags up and down stairs. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Coffee, tea, hairdryer, iron etc also provided in the room. Bathroom was clean with a combined bath / shower provided. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, I found it far better than the expected normal pub food and at a good price. A good and varied menu, i can highly recommend the Haggis and mash, and my guest had the Cajun chicken which she also said was very good. I can also recommend the breakfast, a great selection to be had. I had the home made porridge with fruit and honey, which was also very good.
Very little, though close to the main road our room was at the back so we had no traffic noise, maybe if you were in a room facing the road it may have been affected by the traffic noise.
Clean facilities
Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Staff are super friendly and the restaurant/bar has a great selection of food and drinks. The location of the hotel is fantastic.
