Could do with more sunbeds by the pool
Very relaxing, quiet and peaceful atmosphere. I wish I could stay longer. Delicious dinner and great breakfast. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Easily parked in the around the corner parking. Lovely walk to the sea side, again very quiet place to be.

The hotel has a very old fashioned elegance and is set in wonderful gardens. The location is very peaceful and welcoming.
The hotel is an old building and certain areas are in need of improvement. Our bedroom had quite drab decor and old fashioned fittings but in some respects this matched the historic nature of the hotel.
Staying at the Royal hotel felt like a real treat as I usually book self contained accommodation. I had a single room but it had a 4ft bed which was great. Every single member of staff I met was welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The gardens and pool area were stunning, a real bonus. I’m sure I read the pool was heated but it wasn’t, however this suited me as I was there during a heatwave.

Could not switch off the heated towel rail in the bathroom. No air conditioning in the rooms.

Dogs barking from 9pm to 11 30pm.....if l wanted to stay overnight in a kennels l would have. Would never stay in hotel again while poxy dogs are allowed
The welcome we received and the general, positive attitude of the staff made our stay a pleasure. The room was comfortable and clean. The ambiance was of old fashioned style with all the mod cons you would expect today. The food was excellent and well presented.
