Absolutely Stunning Views & Gorgeous Property.
The Toilet Wasn't Flusing Correctly.
Shower Wasn't Powerful.
The location was great, and the staff were friendly
I was placed in room 61, where the air conditioning wasn’t working during a hot spell — the fact that a standing fan had already been left in the room suggests staff were aware of the issue. There were also several large spiders on the ceiling, which was unpleasant given my fear of them. Between the heat, the fan noise, and the spiders, I struggled to sleep. Breakfast was also quite basic.
Very friendly staff. Nice dinner.
Breakfast Ive paid for very poor- one apple, orange youghurt without spoon, 3 small pastries take away. Disappointed in this. Requested in advance, paid for it but got very little.
Great location for work in Hemel Hempstead, good sized comfortable room, very quiet. And located on a golf course but unfortunately it was too hot for a round at the end of the day, maybe next time.
The Air conditioning wasn't working in my room or the part of the building I was in, but fans were provided so it wasn't unbearable.
I ate in the restaurant on the first night, but not a second time.
Staff, location and food all excellent.
The service in the Orangery was stilted and weirdly on the hottest day of the year the aircon was overwhelming our dinners cooled down too quickly☹️
Size, comfort, romantic vibes, bath, shower and bed were absolutely amazing! It's a really nice hotel for a couple indeed.
Also, the restaurant breakfast was incredible. It was really good.
The only problem we experienced in the hotel was that it was very warm in the room and apart from and old fashioned fan, there is nothing to cool it down (we had all possible windows opened), and it took a little while until luckily it got cooler by itself (around 2-3am)
Beautiful, cared for building and gardens. Air con in the dining area, fantastic evening meal ( reasonably priced too, not sure what the other reviews mean by expensive food)
Comfy bed.... Ok I stayed on the hottest day in June on record and the manor house is centuries old - pee dates air con I reckon. So it's uncomfortably hot. But not the hotel's fault
Nothing
Lovely surroundings, clean and great value for money x
Too warm in the rooms as air con didn’t work.
Excellent breakfast: good choice. Lovely location jn parkland
The fried eggs were rubbery
Staff were polite and professional. A beautiful and well maintained historic building and grounds. Everything was spotless.
There should have been bottled water in the bedrooms.
Additionally the double bed was very small for a double.
It made a warm night rather uncomfortable for two fully-grown adults of normal size.
