Unfortunately, there was very little I could highlight positively from my stay at PC Karachi.
I recently stayed at PC Karachi for three nights, and my experience was deeply disappointing and, at times, genuinely distressing.
I had not visited Karachi in 14 years and travelled alone due to a family emergency. As I was unable to stay with family, I chose PC Karachi expecting the standards of a 5-star hotel—particularly in customer service and, most importantly, security. Unfortunately, the reality fell significantly short.
1) ARRIVAL: Arriving at 5am & having paid for the previous night to ensure immediate check-in, there was no reception staff available. After a 40-min confusion from untrained staff, I finally got my key. Instead of resting, I was met with overwhelming noise from a political event making the hotel feel chaotic, loud, noisy and unsuitable for paying guests
2) LOBBY ENVIRONMENT: The next morning, the lobby was overtaken by a loud student event, with filming and constant disruption. It was clear that external events were prioritised over guest comfort, leaving me feel unwelcomed and afterthought
3) SERIOUIS SECURITY FAILURE: The most alarming incident occurred after accidentally leaving my key in the room, I approached reception expecting standard identity checks. Instead, the staff member (Vimal) handed me a new room key immediately, without asking my name or requesting any form of ID. This is a serious breach of basic hotel security protocol. As a woman travelling alone, this left me feeling extremely unsafe. I spent the night anxious and unable to sleep.
Regardless of any internal procedures or excuses by Ms Soobia (Guest Relation), guest safety is measured by how secure you feel and in this instance, I felt anything but safe
4) MARCO POLO: At breakfast, despite informing staff I would pay for my guests, we were closely monitored throughout, which felt intrusive and humiliating. This level of scrutiny is unacceptable
5) POST STAY CONDUCT: My concerns at checkout were brushed aside. I was later contacted by Ms Soob via WhatsApp & called at 7:00 AM without consent. Despite raising serious issues, particularly around security, I received generic responses and no follow-up after requesting a partial refund
6) VERDICT: PC prioritises large events over guest experience, service, and basic security. I left feeling stressed, unsafe, and unsupported.
The staff and room were great . Soobia took great care of the whole process , from the check in to the room and everything else .
In the complimentary breakfast . The manager was extremely helpful and nice and offered everything we asked . However there is one fellow who was very rude and spoiled the whole breakfast process and did not accommodate us . I asked for water he told me rudely to get it myself . I asked if he could clear the table to which he just carried on ignoring me . However the manger redeemed this experience.
