le major d'homme était très disponible des fois un peu trop surtout quand on vient pour un séjour en amoureux. l'espace privé de la villa se limite finalement à la chambre.

The booking.com details are not accurate. Room sizes are completely wrong. Ours said 6000 sq feet, when it was more like 300!
Beautiful location with a good view over the city with a sufficient pool and nice nature around, although a bit far from the town centre. The rooms are totally comfortable and have a lot of details. The staff is beyond friendly, very personal and always present to help one out. The food is very good and can be easily personalized. Small and quaint hotel that just feels safe and personal.
In the end, I am very torn about this place. The buildings and grounds are pretty, but much smaller than they seem online. There aren't any grounds or gardens and also the pool is much smaller than thought. All in all, the common areas need a little bit of love and seem rather run-down in some places. The pool is not heated and a little dirty in some places. While there are many great places to sit for food, there is a lack of general enjoyment in the garden and the big tent just looks like a huge obstacle in the nature. The room was quirky and totally sufficient, but everything seemed a bit mixed and unmatched, slightly old, forgotten and run-down. There surely is a lot of love poured into this place, but it needs to be updated and speak more one coherent design language. Since the hotel is so small, the staff can feel a bit awkward at times and more like staying at a distant family member's house. The food was good and truly nothing to complain about, both dinner and breakfast, but for the high price of 40 USD per person for one Sri Lankan dinner just not special enough. We had a similar taste for 1/3rd of that price in many other locations in Sri Lanka. You also need to pre-book the exact dinner and breakfast time in advance, which makes your own stay a little inflexible. All in all, this is a nice hotel with love in it and great hosts, but really needs to adjust its price point or renovate and include some more amenities. At its current state, there are sadly many other better alternatives in Kandy.

Nous avons attendu 30 mn au petit déjeuner (dont nous avions pourtant dû choisir le contenu la veille), il y avait un cafard dans la douche le matin et l’ensemble est beaucoup trop cher pour ce que c’est.

We loved this hotel so much, it felt so special and like you were staying at someone’s house in a really good way. It was small and boutique like. The highlight was the dinner, you absolutely must eat one night if you stay as the food is the best we have tasted

Lovely contrast from commercial large hotels. Bespoke service with a fabulous view and stunning food. Although the set menu was $38 per person, well worth it and the best food we have had so far in Sri Lanka. The family room was excellent for a family with older teenagers with plenty of room. Staff could not have done anymore.

Elephant Stables is well located on the outskirts of Kandy, away from the hustle and bustle. It is a beautiful residence turned boutique hotel. The pool and garden are beautiful. The rooms are very well appointed, well sized and comfortable. But the real appeal of elephant stables are the staff, they work well together and treat you like family. Indika, the chef, does a wonderful job with the food and ensures you are happy with what is served.
Very welcoming staff, beautifully decorated reception room. Fun to stay in the Royal Tent, plenty of space and beautiful bathroom. Great facilities in room. Very pretty gardens with two tortoises, swimming pool and ornamental ponds. Stunning views on two sides. Really enjoyed being up out of the town. Staff very friendly and helpful and organised Tuktuks down to Kandy (10 mins) and back.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The staff were outstanding and the rooms were beautiful, spacious and super clean. The setting is so divine too and it’s lovely to be outside if the hustle and bustle of central Kandy whilst not being too far away. Nothing was too much for the manager who was so kind, warm and helpful and a particular shoutout to the incredible chef there who made us THE most delicious meals. Definitely make sure you stay for dinner at least one evening and breakfast was also amazing. They even made us a hamper to take to the airport as we had a very early flight. Would absolutely return there it was magical.
The hotel was not easy to find at first, but when we arrived it was a really beautiful setting. The view from the pool allows you to look out over Kandy and it has a nice, relaxed vibe about it. All of the staff were wonderful and wanted to ensure we had the best possible time, but a special shout out goes to Thiron who ensured we were well-fed with top quality cooking! Nonetheless, all of the staff were very friendly and constantly wanted to make sure we were enjoying aspects of the hotel. They wanted us to enjoy Sri Lankan culture and hospitality. We had all of our meals at the dining area by the pool which felt extra special. The room was also very nice and the property seemed to be maintained to a high standard. I would definitely recommend this place to others if they were considering visiting Kandy.
Unique lovely old property. Staff were wonderful and extremely attentive. We loved the location but it is not that central to everything so some people might find this a negative factor. Breakfast was amazing!!
No power points on the bathroom and very few in the room. Had to plug in to where the bedside lamp is and kneel on a pillow to blow dry my hair. Bedside lamp kept cutting in and out then noticed the wires were exposed. Lamp way to big for the bedside table so I removed it and solved three problems at once :). Very minor issues and would not effect my recommendation to stay.
Another excellent luxury hideaway on our 2 week trip in Sri Lanka. Brilliant location overlooking Kandy city, terrific staff and great food. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
