We stayed for 4 nights at The Empress. It’s a lovely hotel and we were very satisfied with everything. We had a sea facing room (206) which was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. We had a fan in the room…which was much needed!
We ate three nights in the Hotel as we found the food good and reasonably priced. We also had the Afternoon tea which was delicious. At breakfast there was a varied choice….something for everyone. It was buffet style which suited us.
All staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Good location, comfortable with an excellent restaurant.
Room was adjacent to the kitchen fans which started at 6 every morning.
Location was perfect
Rooms could have been cleaner.
Walls are very thin i could hear the people in the next room snoring all night.
Excellent 10/10 great service views fantastic
Everything great food room clean staff friendly and helpful
Great hotel in the centre of Douglas sea front
Twin sea view room was very good ( room 205 )
Great for weekend break
Good breakfast plenty of choice 👍
Lots of choice , food and plates always warm .
We would have preferred a bigger room perhaps one with a sea view so would book further in advance in the future.
All rooms were excellent. The pianist in the piano room was excellent.
Lovely room with sea view. You can hear the waves. Very peaceful at night. Breakfasts cater for every taste and the bar and brasserie served very good food. Vegatables weren't overcooked and the menu is varied. Staff are very friendly, accommodating and helpful.
Clean great location staff excellent
Lot of steps.
It was a lovely hotel. Tastefully decorated. It was in a good location, with bus stops outside. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good. We had breakfast which was buffet style with lots of choice, also Afternoon Tea which was delicious and good value. We ate evening meal also which was good value.
Location, friendly staff, clean lovely food
Staff very friendly, breakfast very good
Sink was blocked in bathroom, wasn't dealt with
Otherwise everything else was fine
The hotel was lovely, friendly and helpful staff, clean spacious bedroom. The breakfast was brilliant always plenty to eat and was always fresh and hot.
Thank you to all the staff
Great location right on the sea front at Douglas. Friendly and helpful staff.
Arrived several hours before check-in but were able to leave our case and go wandering around Douglas. Our room was available for us an hour or so before advrtised check-in.
Room was on the small side at the back of the hotel so we dd not have a great view but someone has to have those rooms! Room was clean and had plenty of storage space with a wardrobe and drawers. The only downside was there was little room down the side of the bed as it was next to a radiator. I am not sure whether this would have been a bigger issue if we had visited in the winter and the radiator had been on.
Bathroom was a good size with a shower over the bath. It was a fixed shower which I dont personally like but it was very powerful.
We had bar meals for two nights and a la carte on the third night. All meals were very good. The A la carte particularly so.
The only trouble we had was the weather but I'm not blaming the hotel for that!
Large sea view room worth the extra cost. Good piano bar menu which wasn’t too expensive.
Only one lift and this was quite small
Service and polite, helpful staff. Quality of all meals first class and beautifully presented. Lovely location. Evening bar nice and lively. Highlight was excellent pianist.
Booked a single room and it was not great. No view at all, very warm and window catch broken so impossible to keep window open.
Breakfast was nice
Staff were always busy
Pleasant bar staff
