Absolutely beautiful hotel - with its caveats
Pros:

The Allegretto Vineyard Resort is truly beautiful. The grounds are impeccable — Tuscan-inspired architecture, manicured gardens, and vineyard views that made us feel like we’d stepped into Italy. The on-site restaurant and bar were also a highlight of our one year wedding anniversary/honeymoon trip here.
Sadly, our experience was undermined by one significant issue: the floors between rooms are very thin. We could hear every footstep from the guests above us, and it made restful sleep nearly impossible during our stay (which was especially disappointing since we were looking forward to celebrating in peace away from our loud neighbors back home).
We brought this up with management hoping for a solution, but unfortunately weren’t offered any assistance or accommodation, which was disappointing given how lovely the property is otherwise.
We’d love to return someday - the setting really is special - but we’d only book a top-floor room, and we’d encourage the resort to take noise concerns more seriously. Also, be prepared to pay generously for any accommodation ie. roses or chocolates, as they do not do any celebratory gestures on their own.

Felt like Italy
Pros:

This is a beautiful property where attention to detail is exceptional. We were most impressed with the architecture, artwork, and gardens. A great place for a relaxing two night stay.

Good estate but don’t expect much good food
Pros:

Nice buildout, nice Italian style replica buildings etc, good estate to walk around, good aircon

Cons:

The cello restaurant was really just meh. An Italian person would faint at the carbonara and the general overuse of garlic…

Beautiful property, a little far from downtown, and service could be better.
Pros:

Beautiful property with lovely grounds. Self park is available. We had a room on the ground floor with a terrace facing the courtyard - pretty nice to sit outside in the shade, although we were overlooked by the wine tasting area. The restaurant staff seemed overwhelmed - we had a reservation, but weren’t seated on time, and even when we were, it took a while for service. Breakfast service was better, although they had staff moving tables all around us on the terrace while we were eating - they could have waited until breakfast service was over. Front desk staff were unfriendly, and I had to ask twice for them to replace a missing chair on the terrace. It’s a drive into town - if you are going to Paso Robles to dine, taste wine and enjoy a free concert, it is probably better to stay down town - we found ourselves taking a lot of ubers back and forth.

Biggest hotel with a lot of "smallness"
Pros:

Nice hotel. But "small" in many ways - restaurant is mediocre at best, bar is small, pool is small and the spa, although great services, has no steam room, real sauna (again a small one) and not real locker rooms. Good location. Easy parking, Rooms are nice, clean and well done. It is a quiet and restful place with a lot of art and whimsical gardens. Staff is very nice.

Do not trust management
Pros:

I made a reservation for July 3 to July 6, 2026 but broke my left ankle before the scheduled arrival for which I was under medical treatment. Unfortunately, I missed the cancellation time by 12 hours. I called the hotel and was told by a person who identified herself as Kerry that they cannot respond to my request for reimbursement directly that but that I need to contact the third party (Expedia) for them to call the hotel which I did. The third party called and emailed the hotel. I called the hotel back and have been told that they had not received a phone call nor an email. This went back and forth four times over two days and was tremendously time-consuming. I requested several times to speak with a hotel manager or the back office manager, Morgan. There were numerous excuses, such as Morgan is in a meeting, Morgan left the office and went home, Morgan went to lunch (at 4.00 pm) and so on. During my last phone call I have been told that the information has been recorded in my file and that everyone would know about it. Due to my injury I needed to leave California earlier than planned to go back home to the east coast. When I arrived, I received an email from the third party stating that Allegretto Vineyard Resort Paso Robles has denied your request because your room is non-refundable and did not qualify for a refund exception despite me offering proof of medical treatment.

I had to cancel 7 hotels for my remaining stay. Four of them, after hearing about my injury, were courteous enough to reimburse me, one of them I have even paid five months before arrival and their rate was nonrefundable. Two other hotels I was able to cancel because of the time-line. The only hotel was that stingy enough and insisted on no reimbursement based on a deadline missed by only 12 hours was Allegretto Vineyard Resort Paso Robles. While they are technically correct, I do not wish any of their managers the type of ankle fracture that I experienced. It is difficult to ethically understand why I did not qualify for a refund exception. What also bothers me is the example the managers set for their young employees by requiring them to lie to the hotel guests about the unapproachability of management when problems arrive. I was really looking forward to my stay but their attitude has ruined it for me. In the future I will look for alternatives in Paso Robles. My experience is in line with the previous over 100 one and two star negative reviews on that property.

Tuscany experience in California
Pros:

From the time we arrived until our departure, everything was perfect. The valet service was professional and quick. Check in staff were very pleasant, friendly and informative. We had lunch in the restaurant with a server who was kind,, knowledgeable, and attentive. We enjoyed the wine tasting and everyone there were also friendly & informative. My wife loved the room which was clean and contained all essentials, not to mention the view from the Terrace. The ambiance is beautiful, scenic and reminds me of a villa in Tuscany. Very serene, peaceful and beautiful grounds to walk around.
