A thoroughly enjoyable stay and a hotel we would happily recommend. 👍🏼
Pros:

The Mercure was absolutely lovely and excellent value for money, particularly compared with the dreadful Taj Resort, which was almost the same price!

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and well presented. The staff were exceptional — polite, courteous, genuinely welcoming and always happy to help.

Breakfast was incredible, with a fantastic variety of choices to suit every taste, accompanied by excellent coffee! ☕️

Comfortable stay
Pros:

Comfortable and easy stay with fairly easy access to the Taj Mahal's quieter West Gate. We don't usually like to stay in chain hotels but couldn't find good options in Agra for our dates. The room was quite big, we slept well. Staff were mostly nice though sometimes a bit overtired.

Hotel is on the main road. Easy for getting around and as you don't walk anywhere in Agra really it's not a problem

Cons:

The lifts are a maze so it's hard to get around the hotel. It's not a personal experience as it's a large chain. Our toilet was not properly cleaned under or behind the seat.

Excellent choice!
Pros:

Staff 7 stars. You can book tickets to attractions etc, very polite! they even ordered an international adaptor for our devices which arrived in 20 minutes ! Breakfast is very good, options for everybody. pool on roof top is good. nice view. area also very good for dinning etc. you can commute via UBER very cheap everywhere. room nice, very comfortable bed and pillows..aircon was working..no complaints.

Close by the Taj! Very good value for money.
Pros:

I enjoyed the property, although was not there long. Great bed linens, pillows and comfy mattress. Breakfast was crazy busy, but somehow it all worked! The selection was decent, and I’m gluten and dairy free. The staff were a bit busy, but kind and friendly.

Cons:

My room smelt a little musty and the linens and the carpet felt a tad damp. Bathroom could do with some touch-ups. The surrounding area outside the hotel wasn’t the best, but it’s a bit typical of the city.
