We had a fabulous meal in the Kings Head Brassiere Cirencester last night, the best meal we have had for a while, i had the short rib of beef, the wife had chestnut and wild mushroom pie both were outstanding. The desserts were lush, the waitresses were very good, the pub/hotel is lovely with nice decor. We will definatley visit again.
Beautiful building, decor, and service was brilliant.
Didn't have any negatives to report
The staff were absolutely amazing So lovely and helpful Highly recommend this motel and also loved the town. Ended up staying longer
Beautiful bar and amazing restaurant
The room was lovely and the location very central.
The receptionist on arrival was borderline rude.
Journeying south and visiting National Trust properties, we stayed for a night at this delightful Hotel. So much bigger than it appears from the outside, and the interior is very nicely set out with different themes in adjoining areas. Lovely courtyard to the rear, and the food served in the downstairs restaurant area was fine.
Do remeber that if you wish to dine on a Sunday, then the restaurant last orders are 8.00pm.
The bedrooms are extensive in number, and the one we were allocated had air conditioning which was certainly needed. Cool and quiet. Quality of the room was first class with really nice amenities.
If there is any draw back to this Hotel, then it has to be the lack of a car park, although there is a set down point adjacent to the front door.
Beautiful building in centre of Cirencester
Rooms comfortable great breakfast.
elevator not working so getting to upper floors was a chore
Every thing
Could have been a little cheaper
Book here! If you are looking for a hotel in the Cotswolds that’s as much an experience as a place to stay, the Kings Head in the center of Cirencester is a good bet. My daughter and I stayed at this historic property, which was recently refurbished and updated. It’s super convenient located on the main street, close to the town’s famous 1,000-year-old “wool” church and excellent museum as well as interesting independent shops and pubs. We were impressed that the hotel’s new look complements the building’s original architectural features with a warm and comfortable decor, and our stylish room exceeded expectations. We also loved the breakfast and dinner menus — we tried several choices during our stay and all were so delicious that we were not tempted to try other spots in this “capital of the Cotswolds.” We enthusiastically recommend the Kings Head and hope to get back on our next trip to England.
We had such an amazing experience staying at the Kings Head! We ended up there quite by accident after a terrible snafu with a third-party booking company, and we could not be more happy that we did. They took such good care of us, going above and beyond over and over again–even though it wasn’t even their mistake! Our room (a junior suite) far exceeded our expectations–it was so elegant, and probably the biggest and grandest hotel room we have ever stayed in. The bathroom alone was larger than our hotel room in London, and contained the most luxurious bathtub and shower. The building itself has loads of charm (parts of it date back to Roman times!), and two beautiful restaurants with some of the most delicious food we have had in England. (We had a free dinner the first night, but it was so scrumptious that we went back every night that we were in Cirencester. We got to know the head of food for the hotel group, and when we learned that he trained with Gordon Ramsey, it all made sense!) The hotel is located right in the center of Cirencester, surrounded by beautiful shops and restaurants. (Cirencester is only 18,000 people, but it has more interesting shopping and dining options than many cities.) We were there for 3 nights, and twice there were markets set up right across the street. We enjoyed the Corinium Museum, walking the grounds of the Bathurst Estate, checking out the 1000-year-old church, and more. It’s also very easy to take a bus to some of the other Cotswold villages. I *highly* recommend staying at the Kings Head–the customer service, facilities, food, and location make it a no-brainer.
We had an amazing stay at the Kings Head. The hotel is a great central location for the Cotswolds. The check-in process was efficient, the bar staff were great and the food and service at the restaurant was very professional.
We stayed in room 109, a large room which had a massive bed and bathroom. There can be some noise from the street outside, with people having a drink, but that noise ended by about 10.30pm.
There is a large gym on the lower ground floor which has all the equipment you would ever need.
Tuesday curry night is just exceptional, presentation is so fantastic, food is unreal and clearly authentically made. Id highly recommend for a fantastic experience to try it!
Everything was superb
Nothing
Modest rooms, but adequate for the price. View of brick wall, but who cares? Air conditioned bedrooms very welcome in heatwave.. Of course, no dedicated parking, but adequate and affordable (£10 for 3 days) parking a 5 minute walk.
Dinner service on our one visit to the brasserie was exasperatingly slow.
