Nice and quiet out of the way. Felt like we were in the jungle.
We only stayed for one night so no issues but if we’d been there longer it was not near anything else unless you got a car or tuk tuk
We stayed at Kuwera Eco Lodge for four nights with our two children, aged 6 and 8, and it was without a doubt our favourite place we stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka.
The setting is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. Our lodge was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing family stay. The pool was wonderful and quickly became a favourite with the children. They also absolutely loved the treehouse, which became the perfect spot for pre-dinner games and drinks – such a lovely and unique touch.
But what really made Kuwera so special was the staff. They were genuinely wonderful – attentive, friendly, incredibly helpful and so accommodating. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We felt so well looked after throughout our stay.
I am coeliac, so eating safely while travelling can sometimes be challenging, but the team at Kuwera were exceptional. They took my dietary requirements seriously, were incredibly careful and went out of their way to make sure I was safe and well catered for. The food was also genuinely amazing – some of the best food we had during our entire trip. It was wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy meals knowing that everything had been carefully considered.
Kuwera Eco Lodge is a really special place. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, a wonderful pool, a brilliant family atmosphere and, above all, a team of people who clearly care about their guests.
We absolutely loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat. I would highly recommend Kuwera Eco Lodge to families looking for somewhere peaceful, beautiful and genuinely welcoming in Sri Lanka.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and highly recommend it if you are looking for peace, tranquility, and an authentic Sri Lankan experience. The spacious bungalows are set in beautiful, tranquil gardens, and the lovely swimming pool was the perfect place to unwind.
The food was a true highlight of our trip; both breakfast and dinner are a special part of the hotel culture here and absolutely delicious.
From the moment we were greeted at the airport by our driver, Malan, the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. A special shoutout to Ruvin, who went above and beyond to make it possible for us to watch the World Cup during breakfast and his attention to detail! The head receptionist was also fantastic, seamlessly sorting out our onward transport and arranging drivers whenever we needed them.
Location-wise, it’s ideally situated—just a pleasant 20-minute cycle into the village. The only minor thing that would have made our stay absolutely perfect would be having bikes with working gears.
Overall, a brilliant stay with wonderful hospitality. We would definitely return!
Very tranquil
It was all lovely
The food was lovely & presented well
We pretty much had the whole facilities to ourselves and the staff were very accommodating

Nothing we didn't like

The villa was beautiful clean and the pool was perfect !
Lage, sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal, ruhig, sauber
Alles war sehr gut
Very nice and friendly staff. Close to what we were in the area for (Pidurangala/Sigiriya). The pool looked great however it rained most of the time we were there and the water was very cold when it wasn't raining! Some of the food was great.
Maybe it was because of the rain but our whole room was damp. The bed was damp and all of our belongings were damp by the time we left. The bed was very uncomfortable. The massage we had wasn't great - the shirodhara smelled like burnt oil and made my hair feel awful afterwards - the spa was very expensive for what it was. Most of the food was nice but it wasn't made clear that we were being charged for dinners until we checked out and they were on the bill. Until then I just assumed I'd booked a room that included meals.
This place is already a paradise because of the natural beauty and peaceful vibe.
But what made our experience truly memorable is your staff.
Every single person from the manager to the staff, made us feel special every single moment and the service we received was even better than a five star hotel.
We are leaving sad but also happy because we know we will come back.
not much options in the food menu but food was really tasty and traditional
We really enjoyed the beautiful location and the way the lodges were integrated into the trees. We also loved rthe breakfast and the dinner and the very he;pful staff.
Beautiful location, rooms were really nice. Great food, very friendly and helpful staff.
