Clean and well presented hotel
The evening dinner was only available from a Table D'Hote menu which cost almost £50 for 5 courses. I don't want or need 5 courses but there was no other option and this is simply not good enough for a hotel that costs this much money, please sort it out. Also, the cost of the meal was not shown on any of the manu etc, again, this is very poor practice.
Wonderful location with incredibly pleasant and helpful staff.
Tolle Lage
Location, views, food, reception staffing, Evening staff.
Wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
Really friendly staff. Large room with a wonderful view. Lovely comfy bed and a bath as well as a shower was a real bonus.
Really good bteakfast.
A bit frustrating having only the 5 course meal on site- would be nìce to offer the option of a more relaxed, bar meal alternative too.
Clean and modern and friendly staff.
What a great hotel! After having to deal with a fire that burnt through the kitchen and damaged some other rooms, the staff have turned it around and we really enjoyed our stay. Our dog Bertie was made very welcome and many folk did offer to take our puppy home with them, no chance. The refurbishment is of a very high standard and the newly trained staff very good at their job. Breakfasts were Very filling and tasty. So we were meant to be there in March but due to the fire had to wait a bit, it so worth it. Well done everyone, see you next year, that will be 5 in a row.
The room was superb
Restaurant staff messed up. They offered a five course menu (only option), yet our table belonged in a cafeteria (no place settings, no candles, paper napkins). Others in the restaurant were given place settings and flowers on their tables; not us, despite having made reservations months in advance. After dinner liquors were also unavailable. The attempt at upscaling the restaurant is failing miserably.
Reception staff were good. The room was a good size as was the bathroom, shower was excellent. Room was spotless. Breakfast was great. Staff polite and friendly
Liked everything
Amazing setting and right on the coast path. The rooms were nicely decorated. Some of the staff were wonderfully upbeat and helpful eg taking our wet clothes for tumbledrying.
The service in the restaurant was often very slow and at times 3 confused staff would show up at the table at once. There seemed to be quite a lot of new staff, some of whom were clearly quick learners whilst others seemed less on the ball.
The rooms in the studios were really hot and there were no heating controls. So it was hard to sleep.
The dinner menu in the restaurant was 5 course offering only which I’d not been made aware of when booking. I’d have preferred to be able to select à la carte what/ how much to eat.
Me and my partner got married in this beautiful hotel in April 2026. The setting was magical and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We spent the night in the beautiful bridal sweet that was very thoughtfully decorated for our special day and had the most amazing breakfast we could’ve asked for whilst sat in the room overlooking longships light house. We both can’t wait to stay at the hotel next April to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.
