Don’t recommend
Pros:

location in the city center

Cons:

The room had a dirty dusty floor, there were a few hairs on the bed, and they weren't mine. The air conditioner was making so much noise that it drowned out the street youth. At some point I couldn't stand it and turned it off, because the noise was like I was in a manufacturing plant. When I asked about a baby bed, we were told that it was an extra fee and we had to pay $50, although the information when booking stated that the baby bed was free. The breakfast was terrible, the eggs tasted inedible, they were rubbery, hard and not tasty. There were different mafias, waffles, bagels and bread, cereals, coffee, orange juice, yogurt with cherries. That's all. No vegetables or anything healthy. It would be better if they didn't offer any breakfast at all.

Location, Location, Location
Pros:

The hotel is located right in the heart of Duval Street, putting you within walking distance of all the action and close to everything Key West has to offer. They provide parking in a separate lot about a block away, which was convenient for our vehicle.
The hotel itself is older but very well maintained and full of character. There is an elevator, although it's quite slow, so we mostly opted for the steep staircase instead. The beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning kept the room nice and cold.
After a long, hot day exploring Key West, the pool was a refreshing place to relax and cool off. Check-out was at 11:00 a.m., but the hotel allowed us to store our luggage in the lobby until it was time to leave Key West, which was a great convenience.

Cons:

Our room was located directly above Mr. Z’s and across from Heroes Bar, so it was quite noisy well into the early morning hours. If you're a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting an interior room away from the street.

It would have been nice if pool towels had been readily available. When I asked for some, housekeeping had already left for the day, so I ended up purchasing towels to use at the pool. On the bright side, they made great Key West souvenirs.

Overall, I would stay here again because the location is hard to beat. However, next time I would definitely request a room away from Mr. Z’s and the street noise. Then again, if you're staying on Duval Street in Key West, you're probably not there for peace and quiet—you're there to be in the middle of all the fun and excitement.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Customer Service and Zero Follow-Up
Pros:

**Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Customer Service and Zero Follow-Up**

I would not recommend staying at The Pegasus International Hotel in Key West.

During our family's stay, the room above us flooded, causing water to leak into our room. The water soaked some of our personal belongings, including my CPAP machine. We were forced to pack up and move to a different room in the middle of our vacation on Friday, May 1. While the staff apologized for the inconvenience, we were repeatedly told that the hotel manager, Sandy, would be contacting us to discuss the situation.

Throughout the remainder of our stay, I asked the front desk several times when I could expect to hear from the manager. Each time I was told, "tomorrow." That continued until we checked out on Sunday, without any communication from management.

Before leaving, I requested the manager's phone number. Since then, I have:

* Left two voicemail messages for Sandy.
* Sent two text messages requesting a return call.
* Called the hotel's main phone number and left a message.
* Emailed the reservations department twice.

As of June 27—nearly two months later—I have not received a single response through any of these channels.

To make matters worse, our return flight was canceled on the day we checked out. I asked whether the hotel could extend our stay for one night at a discounted rate, or even offer some accommodation given everything that had happened. The answer was an immediate "no."

The overall customer service was disappointing. Rather than working to resolve the situation, it felt like the front desk staff simply kept telling us the manager would contact us later, seemingly hoping we would leave and eventually give up. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened.

The room issue alone was unfortunate but understandable—accidents happen. What is not understandable is the complete lack of communication and accountability afterward. Ignoring a guest for nearly two months after water from another room damages their belongings is unacceptable.

Finally, for the price we paid, the hotel did not deliver a quality experience. The complimentary breakfast was one of the worst continental breakfasts I have encountered, offering very little selection or quality. The air conditioning in the replacement room did not keep up with the heat.

Key West has many excellent hotels that appreciate their guests and stand behind their customer service. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend The Pegasus International Hotel. If customer service and accountability matter to you, I would spend your money elsewhere.

Best price and location for a hotel in Key West!
Pros:

The history of the hotel is incredible! You can't beat the location. You are in walking distance to everything. The staff was friendly, the room was a good size and very comfortable. They put us in the same room they did the previous year which was perfect! The hotel is very clean and the continental breakfast was perfect! This was our second time staying here and this is our go-to when we visit Key West!

Cons:

There is literally nothing I don't like about the Pegasus!

Cons:

Terrible experience , Extremely rude staff and impossible to sleep!
DO NOT STAY HERE. If you are looking for a welcoming environment and a good night's sleep in Key West, avoid the Pegasus International Hotel at all costs. My experience here was absolutely awful, purely due to the unacceptable behavior of the staff.
Here is exactly what happened during my stay:
Impossible to sleep: The noise level in this hotel makes it completely impossible to get any rest. It was loud, disruptive, and ruined my stay.
Awful and rude receptionist: When I went to the front desk to explain the issue and ask for a room change, the woman working at the reception was incredibly rude, lazy, and completely detached. Every single time you ask her a question, she rolls her eyes and makes you feel like you are bothering or disturbing her just by existing. She has zero customer service skills and total disrespect for paying guests.
Lied straight to my face: I specifically asked to switch rooms and explicitly stated that I was willing to pay the price difference for an upgrade just to be able to sleep. She dismissively told me that the hotel was completely full. This was a blatant lie, as I could clearly see with my own eyes that many rooms were completely empty and unoccupied.
The management needs to seriously review who they hire to represent this property. Paying a premium price to be lied to, treated with attitude, and deprived of sleep is unacceptable. Save your money and book somewhere else where guests are actually welcomed.
