Our stay at Uga Chena Huts was truly exceptional and exceeded all our expectations.

The villa itself was beautiful — we loved the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, the high ceilings, the private plunge pool, and the warm, cozy atmosphere inside. The design is stunning, blending luxury with nature in a very elegant way.

A special thank you to the team for taking our requests into account. They provided us with a wonderfully private villa and made us feel genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived.

The safari experience was outstanding. Everything was perfectly organized. We were provided with binoculars, and our jeep had two guides: one driving and one dedicated entirely to spotting wildlife and explaining everything to us. Their knowledge and experience were remarkable. Thanks to them, we were lucky enough to see two leopards, which became one of the highlights of our trip. You can really feel the personal approach and attention to detail.

The food was absolutely delicious throughout our stay. One of our favorite moments was the beautiful evening arranged by the hotel team by the ocean. It was peaceful, romantic, and perfectly organized.

What impressed us most was how thoughtfully the entire guest experience is planned. There is always something wonderful to do, yet nothing ever feels forced or intrusive. The atmosphere throughout the resort is one of complete peace, relaxation, and harmony with nature.

Uga Chena Huts is much more than just a luxury hotel—it is a truly memorable experience. We would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yala.

Absolutely everything - the huts were probably the best accomodation I have ever stayed in. The people were absolutely wonderful and could not do enough to help make your trip memorable. Das schönste Hotel in welchem ich je war. Die Zimmer sind grossartig & wir haben direkt vom Pool aus Affen, Hasen, Vögel & Streifenhörnchen beobachten können. Das Essen ist absolot superklasse, das Personal sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Ein Danke an Dinith für den herzlichen Empfang! Und natürlich danke an Chinthaka für den tollen Service - du hast unser Aufenthalt perfekt abgerundet. Auf den Game Drives (Achtung: 1 Game Drive pro Übernachtung) konnten wir mehrere Elefanten und einen Leoparden aus nächster Nähe beobachten. Wir sind begeistert! Es lohnt sich wirklich - das Uga Chena Hats lässt keine Wünsche offen.

Unser Aufenthalt im Uga Chena Huts war insgesamt ein außergewöhnliches Erlebnis, das uns lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir unseren Tourguide sowie unseren Fahrer, deren Erfahrung und Engagement es ermöglichten, dass wir den selten zu sehenden Leoparden „Jawan“ nahezu für uns allein beobachten durften – ein wahrhaft magischer Moment, der diese Reise einzigartig gemacht hat.

Umso mehr fällt jedoch ein Punkt ins Gewicht, der nicht dem sonst hohen Anspruch des Hauses gerecht wurde: der Empfang. Die Begrüßung an der Rezeption wirkte unerwartet kühl und distanziert. Gerade in einem Haus dieser Kategorie erwartet man ein herzliches Ankommen – ein aufrichtiges Lächeln, ein kleines Willkommensritual, vielleicht ein erfrischendes Getränk. All das, was den ersten Eindruck prägt und den Ton für den Aufenthalt setzt.

Leider blieb genau dieses Gefühl von Herzlichkeit aus. Insbesondere das in Sri Lanka so typische, warme Lächeln, das sonst überall selbstverständlich ist, habe ich hier deutlich vermisst. Es bleibt die leise Frage im Raum, ob die zurückhaltende Begrüßung möglicherweise auch damit zusammenhing, dass ich in Begleitung eines Einheimischen war – ein Gedanke, den ich ungern habe, der sich jedoch nicht ganz vermeiden ließ.

Nichtsdestotrotz überwiegen die besonderen Momente, die diesen Aufenthalt letztlich unvergesslich machen.

The resort was exceptional from start to finish. The food was absolutely incredible, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. Our room was huge, beautifully maintained, and very well managed. The safari experience was unforgettable and the rangers were attentive and knowledgeable throughout. It was the perfect place to fully relax and switch off too!

A true paradise with excellent staff, facilities and some of the best food I have ever tasted.

The "Huts" are huge and beautiful with massive outstandingly comfortsble beds, loads of space and each have their own pool which is very welcome when it is hot.

That asked for extra money at last minute before arrival of property, we requested to cancel booking and we didn’t join this property, very bad experience it was.
